I have used this supplement for kittens, puppies and especially ferrets. It has been a go to even more when they are elderly. It is not harsh on the stomach and it a wonderful source of protein. I always mix it with a bit of Pedilyte to give them extra electrolytes. Once open, I usually put in a jar or container and store it in the fridge. It is great to use when you fur babies are not thriving, sick, or just a boost once a week. I have a eleven year old ferret who eat this everyday with his chicken and he is still spunky and eating like a champ.

My sweet elderly ferret Laydi was diagnosed with insulinoma. I gave her critical care every night mixed with her dry food in the later stages of the disease. I am sure it extended her life for quite a while and gave her quality of life as well, due to all the nutrients in this bag. Also, she loved it! I am so thankful for this critical care formula. Thank you for giving me quality, extra time with my baby girl

I have used this in the past. It is wonderful for sick carnivores. However, my boy would not eat it mixed in his soup. He has cancer and kidney disease so I wanted to boost his nutrition with it. I tried the tiniest amount and I had to trash bowls of soup and start over. If you have a carnivore, try this. If they are having an acute illness and need syringe-fed, this is a great and smooth addition. Perhaps try a smaller bag if your little one is new to it.

Helped with my ferret's sensitive tummy

I was skeptical, but Critical Care helped ease my elderly ferret's transition to a new food when nothing else would. He had been having a month of tummy troubles when his old food was discontinued. I was hesitant to try this as a supplement since it's another new food, but it really solidified his excrement and he took to it immediately.

I read high praise for this supplement/food, so I purchased it and gave it to a cat I found starved almost to death once she was stable. Sadly, it made the cat sick repeatedly. No other food made her sick. Thankfully, Chewy gave me a refund! Thank you, Chewy, for making it right!

Please don’t stop making these!

Just what the vet ordered!

This stuff has literally saved my leopard gecko. He got stung on the tongue by a hook worm and refused to eat. Administered with a syringe it has kept him alive

Shortly after our ferret's surgery she started going downhill. She wasn't eating or drinking enough, and she was almost lethargic. The vet had us start her on Oxbow's Critical Care Carnivore to give her nutrition while also providing much needed hydration. At first she didn't want it, and I had to syringe-feed her. I would try holding the warm dish of formula up to her before resorting to the oral syringe. After several days, she actually started licking it on her own when I held up the dish. Shortly thereafter I would just hold her on my lap while holding the dish and she would clean the dish. She is fully recovered. Her vet said I can keep her on it since she likes it so much, so a few times I day I prepare her dish of warm formula and once I set it down she goes right to it.
