I was really surprised this thing was as large and heavy as it was. It is a real terra cotta pot about the size of my fist. It has substantial weight to it. I took the wooden hook off and used a small carabiner clip to attach it to my rabbit’s wooden play table. I dropped a couple of snacks inside and he quickly got the idea. He has banged and clanged, tugged, scratched and flung this all around. It provided a challenge without being overly difficult for him. It’s provided some exercise as he’s went at it from several directions. It took about ten minutes for him to clear out a few pellets and two meadow loops. This is a noisy toy as it bangs around on the surroundings but it provides him some entertainment. I recommend this toy but be aware it’s large, solid and has weight to it. Might not be suitable for smaller rabbits or animals like hamsters.
Firstly, the pot is bigger than I thought it would be! It’s really fun hiding food or treats in here and watching our bunny find it, which doesn’t always happen immediately. I hang it from his cage or put it on the floor. He hasn’t chewed the twine off and he likes tossing it around when it’s in the floor. I like it, Morrison likes it!
I have two chinchillas, and they are both a bit picky when it comes to toys. When I put this in their home they were both immediately curious! It's a great place to put treats for them to find. Plus the wood top gives them something to chew if they don't want the treats! Both of my picky goofballs loved chewing on the wood, and it was fun watching them figure out how to get the treats inside!
So I ordered 2 of these for our pets and one came with the hook broken. They do like the one that can hang though, so I don’t want to discount that.
I thought it would be wood, but it’s a little ceramic pot with a wood lid. I love watching my guinea pigs poke their little head in there to get treats! Remember to hang it pretty low so they don’t hurt their backs trying to get into it.
It’s bigger and sturdier than I expected. The clay pot is heavy duty and gives off the vibes of garden foraging. We put the hamsters treats inside of it and leave the lid open just enough so she can climb in a little and snag the snacks. We didn’t hang it— we made her a huge custom enclosure so no wires to hang the pot from.
useless after half a minute... my girls chewed through the sisal right away rendering the toy a one time hit.
I bought three of these for my Guinea pigs thinking they would be small and MADE OF WOOD. They’re actual ceramic pots! Super heavy and I’m too scared to let my pigs have them so they just sit in my bin unopened. :( waste of money.
This item is listed as: material-wood. I bought them for my guinea pig and sugar gliders. The picture and listing of material as wood made it look like the perfect little foraging cup. Its much bigger and only the disk on top is wood. Its a heavy terra cotta flower pot. I was very disappointed and the items are a useless waste of money.
As a bun, I love tossing my toys around....and I especially love hunting for treats! I KNOW that I get to play with this toy when I hear my mom/dad tapping on the terracotta sides of the pot. Although I eventually broke this toy (supervision recommended), I spent months digging into it, throwing it, rolling it around the ground, and destroying it. Recommended for a bun who likes to throw things (again, with supervision)!
