Listen I know it said 8 cups but I was not prepared for how large this bowl truly is. It's about the size of a dinner plate and it's HEAVY. We got it for our four cat household. It's great for two of them to be able to share the bowl at once (or if you have dogs)...but it's a bit unwieldy to carry across the room from the sink to their feeding area while trying not to spill. Lookswise its nice and as pictured, I like the simplicity of it. Ours did arrive with a very small scratch in the glaze but no chips or anything like others reported. We aren't fussed about it.

It’s not easy to find a true 8 cup ceramic bowl most are labeled as such but are not. It had a chip on the bottom edge but since it’s white it’s not really noticeable

We kept finding pieces of this bowl had chipped off. We were afraid that the dogs would find a piece of the ceramic before we did and eat it...so we ended up throwing
