The tone and vibrate functions are very effective with my 15 lb dog, which, interestingly, is more effective than the shock collar to which she was impervious. The instructions advise that both tone and vibration levels can be adjusted. However, the collar is described on the website as having 16 levels of vibration. The reality is that there is only one level of vibration and one level of tone. The 16 settings for vibration alter the vibration duration. And for that, I have a thumb. This limitation for an $85 device is very disappointing. I'm not getting what I paid for. I'm giving it 2 stars because the vibration and tone are effective.

This was a replacement for the same brand, which died after several years of use. Great product. My dogs have learned to behave just by seeing me go get the collars
