PATPET P680 NFC Pet ID Tag Bark & Remote Dog Training Electric Collar, Blue

I bought this to reduce my dogs reactiveness to other dogs, people, and other animals (squirrels, deer, etc). She would often bark, growl, lunge, and chase. We walk/hike up to 18 miles a week, so experiencing this could made our adventures very distressing. I do practice positive reinforcement with making a certain sound, and throwing a treat it in the opposite direction of what is triggering her, then praising her. This has worked great for other animals and people, but not other dogs so I knew I had to use another method. This training collar works great to redirect her. I have only used the "beep" option as it distracts and bothers her enough not to not get focused on the trigger. In fact whenever she sees a trigger, she automatically looks back at me looking for her reward (treat) because I do that about 95% of the time, the collar about 5%. This is really important because she's breaking the tension all by herself by looking back at me instead of locking eyes with the trigger. I would highly recommend this to others who find walks or other interactions distressing. I have only used this about 2.5 weeks daily and have tested her without the collar the last couple of days to see if she would react and she doesn't, so the results can come quickly if you're consistent with training and combine it with positive rewards/praise.
