The Model 690 collar is equipped with a sleep mode. Additionally, the manufacturer makes some other collars that meet your need, such as Model 303, Model 356 and Model T30.

Does this have a setting where it will automatically respond when a dog barks or does it only respond when the remote is used?

I was using this to train a young rescued (yet willing to learn) pit mix canine. She is one year old and does not need any type of shock treatment. Anyone who has ever rescued any dog from the Humane Society or a foster situation understands they are accepting all the challenges that come with that canines The bell was all her training required. There’s no way of turning off the vibrate or shock Options. I have donated this already too a caning training affiliation and have just used a whistle. I really was hoping there would be way of deactivating one or two of the options.. Just an FYI, for anyone looking to purchase this be advised it’s all or nothing. You have to bevery careful carrying the controller in your hand Not to accidentally shock or vibrate your trainee when working with them or even just going for a walk.. The last thing I would ever want to do with a pitbull or any other dog is shocked them into submission. Training, our young female, takes time and patience. They do the same with us. They learn to trust us. By using the bill to refocus her attention and not wear out the training session for keeping them short, understandable, fulfilling, and rewarding for both her and us all it has required. But I didn’t like about this particular collar and controller is there’s no way of completely disengaging the vibrate or Shock options. The the use of a whistle which we have purchased as all we need. I did read the instructions and understood. The system had the three options, but truly hopedthere was a way of disengaging the vibrate or shock options. You cannot with this collar, FYI.

My rescue was unruly. She's a sweet girl, but would spook easy on walks. This collar made all the difference. It's helpful to have options, we have only used shock in serious situations. We mostly use the vibrate function that usually puts her in check. Gentle reminder. The charge lasts forever for both the collar and remote. I had some questions and needed to contact customer support, from the PatPet website. They were extremely helpful going above and beyond to help me. They have a customer for life. You won't be disappointed if you buy their product.

It has sound and vibration settings.

I haven't needed to use the shock, which has intensity settings. My dog can be outside and I can send a sound or vibration from inside! It helps refocus her attention

Thought this collar would be a game changer in redirecting my 10 month old puppy’s obsessive digging behavior. The remote has never worked properly. Even after being fully charged and paired properly, it stops working after 5minutes! It consistently looses connectivity from the remote to collar delivering unreliable & inconsistent messages to my puppy. Very disappointing. I would definitely Not recommend this product. Going to contact Chewy for refund.
