Is the lid water tight? If we take our dogs to the dog park and there's no water handy, could I fill it up with water at home, put the lid on, put it on the front seat of my car, and expect that it wouldn't spill?

The lid is removable. While the paw plunger is dishwasher safe, it is recommended to hand wash using soap and warm water, then letting it air dry.
