Would you recommend using these on the hocks?

Answer by ChewyAug 19, 2018
This product can be used on the hocks and for all lower leg injuries.

What size would you buy for a regular horse? Medium? Draft large? Pony small?

Answer by ChewyAug 16, 2018
It's recommended to measure your horse's leg width to find the best fit. The Small measures 12 inches long x 3.5 inches wide, the Medium measures 12 inches long x 5.5 inches wide, and the Large measures 12 inches long x 6.5 inches long.

I have a Belgian Draft that has a scar that periodically the flies reopen and it swells. I needed to keep it covered but she is on pasture 24/7. This bandage works overnight and I can change it once per day. It has helped heal the wound and keeps the flies off.

Perfect use for horse leg injury - wish I had thought of it!

Injury to horses legs are very difficult to cover. This bandage wraps easily around scrap and holds medication in place.

Scratches

These bandages are exactly as promised. Easy to put on and stay on during outdoor turnout. They are soft and flexible so I don’t worry about them getting too tight. Water resistant, they offer great protection in snow and sloppy conditions. I have been battling scratches for nearly a year and these bandages help keep medication where needed in wet conditions allowing it to work. My horse’s skin is beginning to look healthy and scabs are disappearing. I have tried every product out there and keeping his pasterns clean is making a big difference.

Really useful

Love this. Easy to put on. It stays on well too even if the horse is in a pasture. Perfect for small injuries.

Love the convenience of a bandage that is easy to apply. That being said you will still need Vet Wrap to keep it in place. Even with Vet Wrap on, it will slip down and rotate on the leg eventually. I changed it every day. It costs too much for what it is but is quick and easy to apply. So you need to weigh convenience against cost. I gave it three stars because it doesn't perform as advertised and is costly.

We use the Equine BandaFlex all sizes on our thoroughbreds. When need to cover scrapes or cuts on legs. We leave the Equine BandaFlex on them when they go to the racetrack to protect the areas. So far so good BandaFlex stays in place. While jogging, galloping.

I had high hopes for this product. My horse had a wound on the outside of his front cannon bone right below his knee. I was hoping that these horse bandages would eliminate all of the cotton, tape and wrapping that I was doing. Unfortunately no matter how tight I made it, the bandage would not stay up. I ended up having to use elastikon tape, and once I did that I could no longer remove the bandage without it ripping, rendering the re useable feature useless.

Not for me

I don’t understand the great reviews for this product. It’s flimsy and way overpriced. I still have to put vet wrap over it. I won’t be buying this again.

Excellent bandages

My OTTB came in from turnout with 3 gruesome wound on his hind leg. All were clear to the bone. Naturally I was facing wrapping for months! The worst wound was right

My OTTB came in from turnout with 3 gruesome wound on his hind leg. All were clear to the bone. Naturally I was facing wrapping for months! The worst wound was right below the hock on the outside of his leg - a terrible place to bandage. We tried 10-12 different methods, but all slid down from the worst wound. Saw these and thought what the heck - they are fabulous. No slippage even while turned out and Chewy had the best price by quite a bit!
