Using chicken coop accessory in a wet/rainy environment, Fir itself has a certain degree of moisture resistance and is not easy to rot immediately in a short-term humid environment. However, long-term exposure to rain will cause the wood to absorb water and swell, breed mold or fungi, and accelerate decay. The ground contact parts (such as the support legs) are prone to rot due to water accumulation. Using in a cold/frost environment in low temperatures itself has little effect on fir, but repeated freezing and thawing (freezing after absorbing water) will damage the wood fiber. If wanting to use in these weather conditions we recommend waterproofing before winter to prevent wood from absorbing water. In high temperatures and high humidity (such as summer), it can accelerate the evaporation of water and moisture absorption cycle in the wood, which is easy to deform, crack or mildew. We recommend ensuring good ventilation and avoid closed and humid environments.
