Brittle, dangerous bones
My new dog's foster gave her filled bones and much as I didn't trust or like bones previously, I figured I'd keep buying them for her since that's what she liked
My new dog's foster gave her filled bones and much as I didn't trust or like bones previously, I figured I'd keep buying them for her since that's what she liked. I got some at a local Pet[...] store where I could see them in person and make sure the bones were thick and not chipped or cracked, and a couple bags of Chewy's Bones & Chews brand and she's done good with them. A couple of the B&C brand came with cracks/chips and some weren't filled all the way, but Chewy replaced them and the rest are good thick bone that's held up to her gnawing. I saw this brand on sale and thought I'd give them a try. They are EXACTLY why I never bought bones before. I don't know what in their manufacturing process does it to the bone, but they are super brittle, chalky even, much thinner (both ends, both bones) than even the thinnest of the other ones I've bought, and started breaking off huge shards in minutes just from my dog bracing her teeth against them to scrape at the filling on the very end. Thank god I was watching her because I barely got to her in time to stick my hand into my dog's mouth to pull one out before she could swallow it. These are DANGEROUS for even the mildest chewers and should not be allowed to be sold.
How big they are.
