Feeding Instructions
Refrigerate after opening. Mix one part of Pennington Natural Springs Nectar Concentrate to three parts water. Shake or stir. Fill feeder with nectar. This bottle makes up to 64 ounces of nectar.

Loaded with Red Dye
This version of Pennington hummingbird nectar is loaded with arificial red dye (FD&C #40). Didn't realize when ordering, although it's listed in ingredients section
This version of Pennington hummingbird nectar is loaded with arificial red dye (FD&C #40). Didn't realize when ordering, although it's listed in ingredients section. I just assumed that the version with FD&C #40 was discontinued. Most sources claim that the red dye is harmful to the birds. Also, their poop stains things below with the red dye. Pennington offers at least two other concentrates without artificial dye - one is clear and one uses natural ingredients for red color. The hummingbirds love the the clear product as much as the red versions. I regret buying the version with artificial color.

I had hoped the red color would attract more hummingbirds but it seems the little “hover crafts” didn’t think us worthy of a stop this year. We’re still keeping
