This is the only smart/automatic water fountain that I’ve ever tried, so I can’t compare it to any others. But what I can say is that my 2 cats are definitely drinking

This is the only smart/automatic water fountain that I’ve ever tried, so I can’t compare it to any others. But what I can say is that my 2 cats are definitely drinking more water since getting this fountain. This is huge for me since I’ve had several cats with kidney/urinary issues in the past. I think the fountain looks nice, and it is a decent size without being huge and taking up too much room. It also is easy to clean, and I like the stainless steel top. I also looked into the filter refills, and I think they are a reasonable price to keep the fountain working as it should. If it holds up over time, I think this is a good option.

This fountain would not stay connected to my wifi. I tried both connections in our house. If it did connect, it would not notify me if the water was getting low

The Penthouse Paws Smart Wireless Fountain is a nice size for a cat or a small dog. it would not work well for a medium to large dog. It was very easy to assemble, and the associated app was easy to upload. Our 14-year-old cat is a bit wary of the motion sensing feature, so for the time being we are turning the unit on and off manually and using the UV cleaning feature to ensure the water stays fresh. The major downside is the initial battery charging time - much longer than the 2.5 hours noted in the instructions - and the battery life itself. When on, we trip the motion sensor frequently, so the battery does not last very long.

Have been working for 2 hours to try to connect to my wi-fi to be able to use the app. Have not been able to do so. Just put out the fountain for the cats so do not have a verdict yet on whether or not they will take to it. Have 4 cats and they have two other recirculating fountains with each being a different brand.

Water loving kitty enjoys it

My senior black shorthair kitty was always harassing us to turn the faucets on and figured it was time to try a water fountain for him. He was a little freaked out

My senior black shorthair kitty was always harassing us to turn the faucets on and figured it was time to try a water fountain for him. He was a little freaked out by it at first since it is motion activated but got used to it in a few days. It holds a lot of water and is fairly quiet. I also like that he doesn't have to lean down so far to drink water and am sure he appreciates that too

Overpriced and Underdelivers

It turns on and pumps water in proximity mode. You can't change the mode without the app. You install the app, but the instructions for pairing your fountain don't

You can't change the mode without the app. You install the app, but the instructions for pairing your fountain don't match the documentation included with the fountain. They also tell you to press buttons and look for lights the unit doesn't have. Save yourself the money and just buy a normal fountain.
