The feeder itself is lovely. However, it is badly constructed. the two bottom pieces are both the copper colored metal. There is no seal. As long as the feeder is perfectly stationary, it's fine. With the slightest tipping, ie wind, it leaks and there is sugar water al over the place. Really encouratges ants.
Hummingbird feeders found them at Chewy so much cheaper packaged and shipped awesome !
I purchased this feeder for the Oriels I discovered by surprise. I had not observed oriels in my area before and I've lived here over 20 years. They are beautiful orange and yellow species. This feeder has the 'ring' around the base which allows for larger birds to perch. The sturdy glass cylinder and brass base make this good quality -- no leaks or spills.
I bought 2 of these hummingbird feeders- the necter slowly drips out the bottom. Im going to return them.
They leak no matter how you try to clean and assemble.
Rusted after one month
The hummingbirds love this feeder. I do too! Comes completely apart for very easy cleaning and there is NO plastic on this metal feeder!
These are the best! Had them before and they lasted for years through the Phoenix heat.. .plus... a great sale price!!
Looked real pretty in my yard for the two days I had it up. I thought the hummers were really loving it because the nectar level was dropping quickly. Then.....the ants gathered on the ground. Feasting on the drippings. Unfortunately, it does leak. I gave it two stars, one for my love of Chewy.com the second star was for the look of the item.
This feeder LOOKS nice, however during hot, sunny weather the METAL stand (hummingbird rests on & drinks from) becomes TOO HOT for them to rest/drink from. They are starting to avoid it. Will go back to the plastic and glass one next time.
