About This Item
Details
- Features six feeding ports, with U-shaped perches for birds to rest on.
- The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably.
- When the squirrels perch, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed.
- The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork and boasts a two-pound seed capacity.
- The clear, shatter-proof plastic reservoir makes it easy to monitor seed levels.

FAQ
The best thing to do is to stop feeding the birds temporarily. Remove the feeders and throw out all of the seed. Thoroughly wash your feeders. Remove all debris from under your feeder. Do not touch the sick birds. Refill all of your feeders and resume feeding.
You will need to sterilize your seed to prevent it from germinating. This will not alter the attractiveness or the nutritional value of the seed in any way.Here are two methods:Conventional Oven: Place the seed on a baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes at 300°F.Microwave Oven: Place seed in a paper bag. Cook on high power for 5 minutes.
Mold is caused by a heavy rain, driving sleet or snow plugging the feeding ports and allowing water to dampen the seed. Always clean, dry and refill your feeders after heavy weather. You may also want to try placing 1/4" of cat litter in the bottom of the feeder to absorb excess moisture.

We do not have any squirrels here, I got this as it's hard to find a feeder where more than a couple of birds can feed at the bottom of it. There is something about the design of the feeder, am not sure if it's the black metal leaves on it that resemble bats, or the fact the holder pins are so far down from the holes, the birds will not touch the food. When I have time I am going to try and modify it, get some metal paint and paint the leaves white, take some needle nose plyers and move all the pins up. Since I work a lot, it's on my list of things to do. Maybe it works better in your area, but I've been feeing birds around here for a long time and they don't like this feeder. It was to replace one I had for about 10 years that was plastic and broke on a windy night, and I can't find a replacement for it but the pins were closer to the feeding holes and the birds loved it.
Not exactly squirrel-proof :=)
Apparently the squirrels in Glenside are more capable than your designers think they are. They seem to enjoy the feeder very much. The smaller birds adore it,
Apparently the squirrels in Glenside are more capable than your designers think they are. They seem to enjoy the feeder very much. The smaller birds adore it, too, and the bigger birds gather around it eating the birdseed that the smaller birds scatter - though perhaps that is not intentional by the smaller birds. :+)

I'm so happy to finally watch birds at my feeder. The squirrels have been taking all the seed for far too long.

Not enough room for birds to eat easily
It just didn't seem useful when filled with birdseed there weren't many places for the birds to eat from and everything was too small
