Are the sleeves too long for a daschund?

To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's length, chest girth (circumference) and neck girth (circumference). To measure the length you'll measure starting at the base of the neck and end at the base of the tail. To measure the chest girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the chest behind the front legs and to measure for the neck girth you'll measure at the broadest part of the neck. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

Sizing is based on your pup's body, chest, and neck measurements in inches. The smallest size is an extra small, fitting a chest of 16 to 18 inches. Cute coat but...

This coat is cute, but it makes my poor pup hop when she walks. Which, is adorable, but probably not super comfortable on long distances. Leg coverings are preferable

This coat is cute, but it makes my poor pup hop when she walks. Which, is adorable, but probably not super comfortable on long distances. Leg coverings are preferable for my girl, but this material is just so stiff that it's not ideal for walks. It's awkward to put my other pup in this coat, her legs are so long. A major design flaw is that the trim absorbs water. My "lowrider" comes back soaked from walks in the lowest of humidity situations (think dew on grass or a light rain hitting a dirt road), and the cuffs collect ALL of that, so it's just wet elasticky material rubbing against her legs and belly.

I took a chance and purchased the xl. It was the only size available. Reading other reviews they noted it ran small. I thought my girl was a large but not really

I took a chance and purchased the xl. It was the only size available. Reading other reviews they noted it ran small. I thought my girl was a large but not really cause her current doggie coat is a large and and a bit small. So extra large fit her perfectly! She is a husky shepherd mix only 40 lbs 22 inches from head to her rump. Her legs are long enough to fit parker leg length nicely. Very happy with my purchase. So is Joleen.

Not functional

Firstly, it's a super cute jacket in person. It's also very warm and I love that the hood can be removed. That being said, with the sleeves I find it's not functional

Firstly, it's a super cute jacket in person. It's also very warm and I love that the hood can be removed. That being said, with the sleeves I find it's not functional for my little one to move around in. So it's more looks over actually functionality. Learning lesson and I will look for a sleeveless in the future. Just food for thought, depends on your expectations and needs : )

Looks cute, heavy warm jacket, definitely runs small. Go 2 sizes up. The large was very small for my 50lb dog. Had a rough time bending & putting his tall legs in

Adorable coats

They seemed to fit a little smaller than the measurements. I measured both pups before purchasing but they were too small for them So I had to get one size bigger

When I called chewy to return they gave me a full refund and instructed me to go ahead and donate them. And I was able to quickly get the correct size.

Seems it could be better for a child not an animal

I'm not even sure what size to get my medium dog after it barely even fits my small shih Tzu. It's not easy to get the dogs leg into the sleeves because dogs legs

I'm not even sure what size to get my medium dog after it barely even fits my small shih Tzu. It's not easy to get the dogs leg into the sleeves because dogs legs are not designed to move outward to the sides like when humans put on a coat. I think I need to be able to take my dog into a store and make sure it fits and is what I'm looking for next time. Online shopping may not be the best option for my pets. It's a nice little coat though. Seems very warm.

Not Warm

There is nothing warm about this coat, its just cheap nylon material and thin, and I mean thin fleece material. My dogs sweatshirts are heavier than this thing
