Instructions

Holding the paw firmly, trim top of nail with a single stroke. Be careful to stop short of the quick, the blood vessel inside the nail. Use safety stop to prevent trimming nails too short. If pet's nails are very long, trim a small amount. Repeat every 7-10 days until nails are at desired length. Monthly trimming should be sufficient thereafter.

    Bulky but sharp

    By on

Bought these for my 100# chocolate lab. While they do cut well they are bulky and the round white piece on both sides gets in the way and makes it hard to get in between his toes. May be fine for other breeds

    These clippers work!

I NEVER write reviews but felt like in case there were others like me out there this was necessary. I'm scared to death to touch my dogs nails! Because of Covid I wasn't going to take the dogs in drop them in the parking lot just for a nail clip - I have 4. Great Dane, Old English Sheepdog, St. Bernard and Australian Labradoodle. Only 1 partakes willingly in the process. I was quite sure blood would be dripping from my walls when I was done. No, I've done it twice so they stay sharp. The nails I'm dealing with are enormous and thick. I do have to use some serious muscle but they handle it. I can sneak attack the Great Dane without actually touching her foot and feeding her a cracker I NEVER write reviews but felt like in case there were others like me out there this was necessary. I can sneak attack the Great Dane without actually touching her foot and feeding her a cracker with my other hand. These are a LIFE SAVER! They were not my first choice, chewy was sold out of most everything for a long time but these and another pair became available at the same time and I grabbed them both. The other pair was a disaster. BUY THESE. The guard will prevent you from cutting too close- if the nails are super long just clip twice. I still sweat from doing it because I freak out but no blood just happy dogs that don't sound like they are wearing high heels on my wood floor! … more

    Pretty good

    By on

Not my favorite design for a nail clipper, but they work well enough. The blade is sharp and the clipper allows for a firm, quick nail cut. They are comfortable in the hand. My only complaint is that the configuration of the blade can make it difficult to see how high up you are on the dog’s nail. This isn’t a problem if you are using the nail guard (or stop), but I think that feature is just annoying. I know how to cut a dog’s nails. I know how far up to cut. Honestly, I prefer guillotine style nail clippers. I think they make a cleaner cut and are safer for the dogs.

    Great for my GSD!!

I ordered these for my German Shepherd that hates having his nails trimmed. He has never sat still for me to clip all of him nails until I ordered these. They work well and the guide stays in place (great for his dark nails).

    Easy to use

    By on

The guard on the trimmer makes it easy to use. Nails don’t get jagged as the clipper cuts nicely

I needed some clippers that my little dog would let me use to trim his scratchy nails! These work great.

    great for Great Danes!

    By on

This is probably the third pair of trimmers I’ve bought because others have hurt my hands or hurt my Great Dane who has ridiculously thick nails. This cut easily and don’t hurt him. For the first time he gives me his paw and lets me trim them. I only wrote reviews when something really deserves it.

Worked great for awhile but not anymore.

    By on

I bought these clippers last March and they have been working great up until the last couple months. They no longer stay locked in the postion that they came in. They pop open really wide which makes clipping my dogs nails very difficult. In the narrow position they come in they clip my dogs nail very quickly. In the wider postion it is not quick and my dog often yanks his paw away before I can get the nail clipped all the way. I have tried adjusting them back to the narrow postion but then they end up popping open mid clip. My dog won't even let me do his nails now because of the difficulty of using the clippers in the wider postion.
