Can this carry a 20 pound miniature schnauzer

This carrier measures 18 x 11 x 10 inches (length x width x height) and may be suitable for pets up to 20 pounds, depending on their size. It is important to select the carrier size based on your pet’s measurements first and then by your pet’s weight, making sure not to exceed the maximum weight limits. Also, allow enough space for your pet to change positions while inside the carrier.

There is a strap inside the carrier that is attached to the floor seam, what is it for?

The strap inside the carrier is a seat belt that you connect it to your pet's collar or harness to secure them inside.

Can carrier be secured to seatbelt in car?

we have two, one for each cat. they fold flat and take up minimal space when not in use, but set up REALLY easily, and offer flexibility in how they are zipped (change the location of the opening for a smart kitty that will nose open the last place they saw you zip from.) It opens flat, if you need to get a nervous kitty out with minimal stress. Theres a mesh pocket at one end, useful for keeping the most recent vaccination record handy. Theres a clip inside that we have never used, but would be helpful to attach to a harness if you REALLY needed to make sure the kitty would stay IN the carrier, even if it is being opened mid-trip. Our kitties will play in them, if we leave them out, so THEY have given their comfortable seal of approval.

Not great for short trips

The carrier is sturdy and well-made, and although a little smaller than some, there was definitely enough room for my cat. However, it seems more designed for taking

The carrier is sturdy and well-made, and although a little smaller than some, there was definitely enough room for my cat. However, it seems more designed for taking on a flight or very infrequent trips. Taking it to the vet can get annoying, because opening and closing it isn't necessarily intuitive and the flap that covers the zipper just makes it more difficult in some ways. So I am no longer using this one for the vet.

We just adopted 2 kitties and needed a cat carrier other than the cardboard one we got from the humane society. This carrier is so wonderful and easy to put my kitty

I bought one of these, liked it so well I bought a second one. I leave them open on the floor and the cats sleep in them so when we do need to go to the vet I have

Not sure I would recommend this carrier. Are two zippers with which can open either end, but not at same time. also, one end is solid with no viewing, so need to be careful which way load animal. Doing so would leave the long side unattached. Not sure how easy breakdown will be either. I would think this item was meant to be left compact. I do not plan on using shoulder strap, so that is a non selling point for me.
