What is the best way to clean them?
Machine washable is the best and easiet way to clean them.
There is no special washing instruction. You can wash as regular setting with cold/warm wash.
I ordered these in addition to the Pet Parents brand. I tried these first. They worked well enough, but they run massive a little small? Lily runs 14-14.5". The others were 9-15" and have much more "room" to adjust. These are 11-16 and I worried they wouldn't fit our be too uncomfortable for her to move around in; they felt right at the edge of the Velcro. The others fit MUCH better and still had room to adjust bigger/smaller. The others also had more padding. Again, these aren't terrible, I just liked the others better. Neither would be great for a fully incontinent dog, but a dog in season (like Lily), or a leaky dog. Otherwise you'd be changing them multiple times a day. She moved freely and played normally in both sets. I just feel like these were tighter over all; again, I could adjust these smaller but she was at the end of the sizing.
i thought that these were great at first until i bought white bedding and woke up to urine stains on them. she had gone in the middle of the night and it soaked through the diaper and into my bedding. i don’t recommend these if you are needing ones that will last throughout the night.
I have a 10 mth old husky/pyranees mix whos roughly 70 lbs so ordered the large. Before she started her heat I trained her to wear them. Not only does she lay down immediately when coming in so I can wipe her, she stand when first Velcro is on so I can re-adjust & do other. I do not find the tail piece hard to put on because I put my entire arm through & hold length of tail then slide diaper down to base. I can still fit a finger under similar to collar to ensure circulation. She parkours around this house with the other dogs without issue. She drips like a faucet so I take her out every 4-5 hours & rotate to a clean one. I suggest having at least 6 on hand so you can wash a few at a time. Dog perfume spray to help with the natural funk smell
I got these solid colors for my dog with no tail. These fell off too. I'll donate these to the shelter. I REALLY NEED a GOOD DIAPER for my baby! REALLY. She also has slight arthritis so the diaper may never be an option. I'm gonna try ONE MORE TIME with another brand.
I was struggling to find a diaper for my hospice foster that was comfortable for her and would stay on all night. These are the best I have found! They are soft enough to be comfortable for her and absorbent enough to last all night. The Velcro holds well and they wash up great. Highly recommend!
Diapers stay on my dog very well. She doesn't seem to mind wearing them. Size is a little bigger than what I thought they would be, but they stay on. I'd size down if ordering again. The lining is white which seems to be an odd choice for their intended purpose. Almost impossible to keep them white even after the first use / wash.
My German Shepherd puppy just came into her first heat. Unfortunately, she cannot be spayed, due to congenital kidney problems. Picked up some disposable doggie diapers at the pet store, but they didn't fit well (too small), I had to cut or rip open the tail holes to get her tail to fit through, the tabs didn't stay fastened and she was ripping them to shreds. (Big mess. BIG). Both these and the competing brand of reusable diapers got mixed reviews on Chewy (some people say the sizes run small, others say they run large), but I decided to give these a try because of the slightly higher overall rating. I measured her, followed the size chart and ordered size L. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they work perfectly!! These are SO much easier to get on her than the disposable kind. They cover the area they need to, and don't look or feel too small or tight. The Velcro fasteners are much more secure and hold in place, even when she's running around the house and wrestling with her sisters. Even her bushy German Shepherd tail fits easily through the elastic tail hole, no cutting or re-sewing necessary. She also just looks happier and more comfortable in these than the disposables. The material is very soft, it doesn't rub or chafe against her. There's a decent amount of padding inside to absorb the blood. I haven't found the need to buy extra disposable pads. It took a few times putting these on and taking them off to get her to stand still and let me do it, but after just a few days she's getting used to the routine. Now I tell her, "We have to put your pants on, Catori," and she'll stand and wait and let me do it. Another BIG plus I would point out is these are VERY easy to wash. I saturate them with a stain treatment first and let that sit for a few hours to overnight. They can be hand-washed or put in the washing machine - I've done both. Nice to know you can just throw them in the wash if you don't have the time to stand there and scrub (or just don't want to, LOL). I have not put them in the dryer; I just lay them flat or hang them up to dry. These pants have saved me a TON of time, aggravation, and needing to clean blood up off my floors. Would totally recommend!! Stop debating, just get them!! (If for some reason they don't work out for you, fear not, Chewy is always great about returns/refunds). 100% Catori-approved. For reference, she is 58 pounds and has slightly skinny hips.
I purchased these diapers for my senior dog who has started urinating during the night, without waking up to go out. They didn't absorb the liquid, so they were no help to us at all. I have to say that the dog didn't mind wearing them, and once I made some adjustments to fit her better, she didn't come out of them, but they just didn't work for her. If you still want to give them a try for your pup, I recommend that you order the smaller size, if the waist is right at the end of the size range, because the band is elastic in the front and velcro on the back. My dog is a small breed poodle mix but has a 21" waist, so I ordered the large and had to take in the straps about an inch on each side, sew up the tail hole half way, so it wouldn't slip out, and shorten the diaper from butt to waist. It wasn't easy to sew through the material, so I did two by hand. They were also too wide between her legs, so maybe the medium would have fit better, but if they don't absorb the liquid fast enough, it really wouldn't matter how small they were.
Measured dog as instructed. Did not come close to fitting. Put disposable diaper inside to help fit & Velcro closure kept coming apart
