Does melatonin help if the dog starts to lose its hair?

Melatonin can sometimes help with hair loss in dogs, especially if the cause is related to certain types of alopecia (hair loss) such as seasonal flank alopecia, alopecia X, or other hormonally-driven, non-inflammatory hair loss conditions. It is not a cure-all, but in some cases, melatonin has shown to promote hair regrowth and regulate the hair growth cycle.
