WE have one dog that is very afraid of fireworks. This product has helped him to make it through the night on both 4th of July and New Years or when the football team wins a game and the fireworks go off around us.
I have a rescued little Yorkie who is so so stressed out about everything, But the worse is when I leave or the blue Angels are flying, and don't start me about fireworks. I've tried a few things and the I found this I got so excited but tried it a few times never worked. But I do love chewy so I found another item and all the reviews are positive so xxxc fingers I get better luck.
My Vet had me try Prozac for my Rescue Chihuahua's anxiety...I've had her for 14 yrs & she always has been looking for the boogeyman (having spent her first 2 yrs living with a boogeyman & others.) The Prozac did nothing over the course of a month + 2 wks. Trying Pet Remedy on her stuffed toys & on her several beds has been wonderful. She's is definitely more relaxed & hasn't looked for the boogeyman once. The odor to me is acceptable given the reward tho I've chosen to continue the spray rather than the diffuser (plus my elec outlet openings were the wrong way.) "Coco" & I are happy!!
Let's cut to the chase - the smell is not great. BUT it drastically improved both of my cats behavior and nervousness. We adopted a bonded pair years ago and despite a lot of socialization, they are still skittish and not used to many sounds of city life. This product has been a game changer. The nervousness is gone, the occasional food aversion is no longer a thing we battle, and my cats are constantly happy and playful. If you live in an apartment and have nervous animals - especially during the current lockdown situation, I cannot urge you enough to invest in this product. A little goes a long way and eventually the smell isn't a big deal, at all.
I didn't like the smell of Pet Remedy and it didn't seem to calm either the dogs or our cat.
Not sure how calming this spray may be, but I can definitely say it stinks. I sprayed it on the soft sided kennel and almost had to leave the room. Hard to describe the smell- rotten flowers perhaps? I had to wash all their bedding the smell was so bad. The dogs refused to sleep in the kennel until it was aired out.
It soothes our rescue dog like a charm. The scent is an earthy/musk oder that after a couple days everyone gets used to. If you have a pet with separation anxiety it is SO WORTH IT!!!! The plug ins work well too!!!! Use sparingly in your vehicle as the heat and lack of circulation intensives it HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Not with my kitties made them hyper not calm only strayed one time they reacted as they do with catnip. Can't use because I was looking for something to keep them calm as one of my kitties was having seizures and they others are much younger and active. Will not try the plug in I bought. I will give to a friend .
Our cats have done very well since the switch from Feliway to Comfort Zone back to Feliway & now to this. I've used this on a crate pad to get them used to going into & napping in a new carrier. We had our first vet visit since the change-over last week. Closed the gate, covered with a towel, then sprayed the outside of towel once with PetRemedy. Crying cat calmed down quickly. Still meowed as crate was being moved to the vet van outside (home visit vet), but overall, she wasn't as bad as usual. This is a very skittish cat that hates change or new people. No hyperventilating or trembling. To me, this helped a lot with her. Will continue using & recommending. The scent doesn't last more than about 30-60 minutes.
Doesn’t work at all for my pup. And it stinks all over my apt when I spray it.
