It would be really nice if we could actually see what this toy does. Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to even remove the covering to insert two AA batteries unless you have gigantic hands or unnatural amounts of strength in your hand. I've been trying for the last 20 minutes to open the battery compartment as instructed in the manual, and it hasn't so much as budged. All I have show for it are sore wrists and raw palms (because of the sharp edges on this toy). It's honestly shocking that anybody brought such a terrible design to market; in the future I plan to avoid any Pet Zone products given the wretched state of this one.
It definitely gets my cat's attention enough for him to play with it, but the underside cover that has to be removed to access the batteries is nearly impossible to get off without breaking the toy. The chirping function also stopped working properly within a few days even though the cat has not subjected it to any rough use.
We have a Maine Coon Cattery and raise many litters of kittens. We bought the toy and our kittens love it! They will play with it on or off, just trying to get the bird. So we bought another one. It is a wonderful toy for the kittens, that keep them occupied for a long time.
Very hard to detach the base to get the batteries in, but once we finally did the cats seem to enjoy it. The directions state how to replace the little bird inside the cage, however, they do not give a secondary bird.
I have two CH cats and one is quite overweight, as he has a hard time running around and becomes disinterested in toys rather quickly. I bought this hoping it would get him and his sister moving a bit, but considering all the unused toys I've purchased over the years, I wasn't holding my breath. I was shocked when both CH cats and my 14 year old cat spent almost an hour playing with this. I'm going to buy another for the 14 year old since she's a bit timid around the other two. Great toy!
She loves the bird sounds and little birdie. Just got it for her Birthday and she couldn’t stop playing with it.
Both my senior cat and younger cat love this toy. They sit next to it even when it's not on. It's also durable. It withstands daily play. I had it years ago and glad to have repurchased it
My 3 year old cat showed initial interest and then abandoned it. My friend has a 2 year old cat who seems to enjoy it. I wish it were motion activated so the bird would tweet when the cat walks by.
Minerva loved trying to figure this toy out. Shes a previous stray so this is good for her mental stimulation.
The bird is ripped and is coming off of the plastic part. Wish I would have noticed before throwing the box away..:/
