Made these for our 5 cats and Daniel enjoyed it the most! The cake is very chewy and can be hard for more delicate cats to eat. Our hunt motivated cats took right to it but we needed to chop it up for them to truely enjoy without making a mess. Buy for the cute mold and reuse for other treat creations.
My cat loved this! Without adjusting the recipe I doubt he would of though. Instead of water I used cat-sip milk. I then added a chicken squeeze up for the batter and a salmon squeeze up for the frosting. After taking photos I mushed it all up for my cat and he ate it all up and wants more!
KittyKat like it. Fun making it too. Will order again.
I had so much fun making these, i put organic chicken from a can, mixed inside the batter then microwaved it and my cats went crazy for them. I do not recommend the "frosting", my cat took one lick and started foaming and salivating. The heart attack I got. But for the plain ones they loved it! Next time I'm going to use a turkey mix that chewy has to add to it. Besides the frosting, the only con is the recommended time limit in the microwave, made some parts very hard; please fix that.
I was so excited to see these adorable cakes and to decorate them. when I found out there was no black and orange icing. they also smelt horrible and stunk up my whole kitchen. Was a cute idea but I wouldn't do it again.
My cats licked these, nibbled a few times and then walked away. Was so bummed. I should have read the reviews before buying. They love to steal human food every chance they get so I thought they would love it.
This smelled awful cooking but quickly disappeared. I added the optional chicken in because I figured why not. It was very easy to put together and make. The mold is adorable and can be reused. My boys tend to be picky. They licked at the “frosting” and nipped at the treat. I later had to cut it down up for them. They chowed down after that. Like others, this was nothing Halloween themed.
Didn’t even get to try this for my cat’s birthday cause all they sent me was the little fish mold tray not even the mix or frosting like it says.
They wouldn't even come near it and the "frosting" smelled like spoiled milk.
I always wanted to try petcakes!! I was so excited when chewy finally carried it! My cat is a picky eater and I knew he wasn’t going to eat it(he tasted a little bit in the night) this was purely for my amusement. There were no instructions provided for the frosting so I had to find the brand on YouTube and they still didn’t include how much water to use so I made the icing too runny and had to wait for it to thicken. Overall I’m sure taste can be improved to make it more attractive to our cats actually eating it, also please provide directions for the icing. Icing is also not colored like on the picture you have to add food coloring yourself if you want to be fancy. However, a cute way to celebrate your cats special day!!
