Like Zesty Paws products, this product has some sort of powder coating that our dog doesn't seem to like. He will still eat them if you make it "hard to get" but it's a chore and sometimes they get spit out. I am not sure what the purpose of the coating is since we have tried other vitamins (Chewy's own vitality? brand for example) and they do not have such a coating. Maybe to keep them from sticking together or to mask a taste/smell? Whatever the case, while our 12-year-old lab will eat these with enough trickery, the fact it's that hard to get him to eat them is a big negative in my book. We won't be buying them again most likely.
Have been buying these for a few years. Dogs always loved them. But then they started looking and smelling different. Called about it a few times. Then My german shepard started walking away from me every time I grabbed the container. My husky began getting diarrhea and bloody stool. All of which stopped shortly after I stopped giving these so called vitamins.
I've been buying these Pethonesty multivitamins for years for my our dog. Used to love the smell and the softness! Now, I can't stand the smell. Smells like it's too strong of a vitamin! When I toss it on the floor to my dog, it makes a hard noise. Not soft anymore! I'm NOT happy with the new formula change and texture or the smell. Also, my dog's stool smells awful now! Planning to switch to a new multivitamin. PH has lost us as a customer...unless they return to the old formula.
My dogs used to love these, we’ve been buying these for almost 3 years. But the last three times I’ve purchased them they have a chemical type. My labradors have started spitting them out. Not sure the formula changed or what happened but they no longer enjoy them.
I rescued an 8 yr. old Husky. On her papers that came from the shelter, she had x-rays, and felt she had pain in her hips. We walk 2X's a day. I thought that a multi vitamin would help her. Checked the percentage of Glucosamine, omegas and probiotics of this brand, and percentages were higher than other brands. Must be helping. Her 2 walks to the park are the highlights of her day!
These used to be great… why change it?!? My dogs loved them took them easily without coaxing. Soft chews my donkey!… these are now hard and smell. My dogs look at me like I’m trying to harm them instead of providing a treat… I don’t know why you have to mess with something that’s not broken. Will not be buying again.
I had been buying these vitamins for my dog for about a year. They were chewy but the last batch brought back in August were hard. Reached out to Chewy and they did send another batch but they too were hard. Don't know what changed but I do feel like something definitely has. At first my dog wouldn't eat them but now she does, although at times she seems to be a little hesitate to do so. I do hope the company goes back the original formula, if changes were actual made.
i have been giving my dog Pet Honesty Multi-vitamin for years and i purchased another canister a month or so ago and noticed that the product was a hard texture for the first time. usually it is a soft bite size but this was different. i contacted Chewy a couple days ago thinking maybe this was an old batch so Chewy sent me a new canister but it is still hard and not the same as it has always been. now i'm thinking that Pet Honesty changed their formula or something because my dog has very loose stool and nothing has changed in his diet except this vitamin
I'm switching vitamin brands now after receiving a few tubs of the new formula. With the old formula, my dogs would love to get the vitamins as a special treat after dinner. Now the new formula has such a strong chemical smell, my dogs refuse to eat them and I need to hold my breath every time I open the tub.
Something changed and these vitamins are now hard, with sharp edges, and crumble into a chalky dust. Completely different from how they used to be. The old formula was softer with more moisture and easily be crumbled into chewy chunks for my small dog. It's a shame, my dog used to love them.
