Should have read reviews more carefully. As others have stated, it is very easy for the cats to undo the top zipper from inside the carrier to escape. I learned this today when my cat slipped out and traveled halfway down the plane before he was caught
Yes, I'd recommend it. I'm here today to buy a 2nd one for my other cat.

The carrier has a sipper opening at the front, pictured, and also across the top. I leave it out and my cats lay in them like cat beds. This makes it far less traumatic when it's time to go to the vet. They don't associate getting in the carrier only with the experience of going to the vet. My one issue with the carrier is I'm concerned my cats could manage to open the top zipper. The top zips closed around the top panel by a zipper on each side connected by a handle. Then there's a velcro flap you fold around the handle, and this secures the zipper so the cat can't force it open. My cats have not been able to get it to budge so far, so maybe I'm just worrying for no reason. I'm buyingThe carrier has a sipper opening at the front, pictured, and also across the top. I give this carrier for my cat an A rating. Roomy. Top opening makes it very convenient for getting my stubborn cat in and also more convenient for vet techs getting her out of the carrier. The bottom needs to have a sturdy piece so the carrier doesn't fold and use caution with cats having claws. Possibility of claws tearing the mesh and cat learning how to unzip the top opening. Don't leave cats unsupervised.
Ok for short trip

My cat was able to unzip the side and the top is just velcro on so he was able to squeeze out of it and open the velcro. Would not recommend

I would not purchase this for a cat. My cat is 8Ibs needed this for trips to the vet. The case has a opening zipper on top as well as a side zipper. Upon driving to the vet my cat figured out how to unzip the top zipper and climbed out while I was driving. I thought maybe I did not zip it securely, next time I used it I made sure every thing was secure. He managed to do this again had to pull the car over to put him back in and hoped I would make it back home before he escaped again. Would not recommend for a cat travel bag. Will not be using.
Better than expected

We got this for our kitten when we went to pick him up. 4 months later it is still in tact and he loves this carrier. We leave it out and sometimes he goes to play with his toys inside. When we take him to the vet he can get a bit fussy (due to the car ride not the carrier) and he has yet to bite or claw through the siding.
The Sherpa lining is an added bonus.
Our babies love these

Our 3 babies absolutely loves these carriers. So much so we leave them out and open because they love playing and napping in them. Plenty of room for the to lay all the way down and still move around. Easy to use and carry as well.

It works great for my big cat taking him back-and-forth to the vet it was more comfortable than being squished in the little ones that I have
Definitely Didn’t Work

I bought this so I could take my cat to the vet, but unfortunately I didn’t even get that far. This carrier is extremely easy for cats to get out of. My cat was able to rip open the Velcro and wiggle her way out. No matter how we tried to close it, she was able to escape. Now I love my cat, but she isn’t an escape mastermind here. A genius cat she is not, but she was able to figure her way out of this rendering it utterly useless.

I love so much about this carrier! I am a first time cat owner, so I was worried about bringing a cat home in a new carrier, and then of course bringing them to the vet later. However, my cat has no issues with this carrier. If I leave it out and open, he even takes to laying in it in his spare time! I think the sherpa lining is a nice touch, and the top zippers are extra helpful in loading him in.
