I just received the Calgary Dog coat. I have one question. In the back on the underside of the coat are 2 elastic straps, one on each side. What are these used for

The interior straps are elastic leg straps to keep the back of the jacket snug against your pup.

Can leash be attached directly onto the coat? Or must I use a harness as well?

This Coat is not designed to be a harness. It features a zipped slit in the back for easy harness attachment to a leash.

How long is the underneath piece of material (when fastened) from chest to where it ends (ribs)? Our small standard Dachshund is an odd size & hard to fit for coats. Even if it fits, he can often urinate on the bottom strap if it’s too close.

The length of this piece in the Small is 8.75 inches, the Medium is 11 inches, the Large is 12 inches, the X-Large is 12 inches, and the XX-Large is 16 inches.

Perfect jacket for my tzu

This jacket fits my long body, short leg, thick Shih Tzu perfectly! I love that it goes over his head as he doesn't like when I have to shove his arms through

This jacket fits my long body, short leg, thick Shih Tzu perfectly! I love that it goes over his head as he doesn't like when I have to shove his arms through jackets. His chest is fully covered and the Velcro is on the sides so there is no way it will get stuck to his fur. The top slot for the harness has a two way zipper so you can attach your leash to the harness and then zip it as closed as possible. We didn't use the leg straps but the jacket didn't move on our 2 mile snowy walk. Bernie's measurements: Neck: 14" Bust: 20" Back length: 14" Weight: 21 lbs I ordered a Medium. I hope they add more color options because I'd like to buy another!

Another of our dogs has a similar coat. I like that it won’t snag. Though it has nothing to do with quality, Charlie’s coat is very similar to Ralphie’s, so they look cute together. The difference is that the Petrageous coat has reflective strips that will keep Charlie safe if I take him for walks.

Perfect fit!

Difficult to get on the dog

It must be pulled over the dog’s head. Not fun for either of us. A closure at the neck would make this easier to deal with.

Well made

It is warm and waterproof. A little big for my 20lb Jack russell mix but the small would not fit so I went with a medium.

It’s made with care. Makers must have a Frenchie. Zipper in top to be able to adjust for different harnesses and neck pullover not too tight.
