XL Fits the Lab/Pit mix and nice quality
Based on measurements for her chest we got the XX-Large but it was way too big. Tried the size down and it's a great fit. Her chest measures 33 inches and it's 25 inches to the base of her tail. We haven't used it yet other to try on but quality seems good and it's easy to put on.
Perfect for Rainy Days
My Big Boy is a Boxer Pit 95lbs! On rainy days this keeps him dry and warm, I only need to towel off his paws and face!! He is wearing a xxl.
Great quality, weird sizing
PROS: I was excited about this coat because it closes on the top, and my dog constantly gets sand or snow in the velcro when it attaches on her belly. The magenta color and construction are beautiful, too. CONS: The sizing just doesn't work for a 23 lb corgi. The medium was massive with 6 inches of extra fabric on the straps, but the small was SO small I couldn't even get it over her head. It's possible the ones I received were mislabeled but beware about the sizing. This is probably better for bigger dogs only.
amazing jackets for your pups!
I ordered these for my German Shepherd and Labradoodle. I was very happy with my purchase!! My GSD weighs 98 lbs and measures 21” around the neck, 30” long, and his girth is 36”. I decided to get the XXL for him and it fit a tad big around his belly but the Velcro strap helps me adjust it so it fits him better. I think that the XL would have fit too tight around the armpit area so I’m happy with the size I got. I’m also glad it fits right at the base of his tail for that extra coverage. On the other hand, my doodle weighs 45 lbs and measures 15.5” around the neck, 22” long, and her girth is 27”. I decided to get the L for her and it fit her exact the same way it fit my GSD. I’m happy with the sizing I decided to get for both of them. The jackets themselves are thick and good quality for those colder, windy days! Definitely recommend :)
Great coat
I love this coat for our dog. We have had a long cold and snowy winter and our first coat actually wore out. This ones design is so much better. Easy to get on and off and still covers the belly well. Ordered the XL based on chart but was too big and Chewy wonderfully replaced it with a large. We donated the other to the local shelter. What a great company!
50/50 pros and cons
Pros: Good, sturdy material, pretty colors. Cons: I measured my dog by the size guide, but was a little small. The elastic leg bands were to small, too tight and cant use. Without the bands the back of the coat is stiff, lifts above the body n wind and cold air, wind gets between dog n coat. The coat its self is made very well with very good materials.
Good quality, a little heavy
I got this specifically because of that cold spell that came through and I was really worried that my dog would be cold on our walks. The sizing is a little tiny bit off, I bought a size too big and it covers all of her back and hangs off of her butt a little bit. My dog hates it because it goes over her head but I might try to alter it somehow. The velcro strap across the stomach helps keep it in place pretty well but it did shift around a bit and cause her to shake to try to adjust it. The little shaped hooded part also seemed to annoy her a little bit (probably because I got the wrong size) but it covers the collar and back of her neck. It seemed to be a little heavy because of the thickness, but her fur was nice and warm when we got home so I know it worked very well!
Perfect for a Pup That Hates Coats
My sweet pup (15 yrs old) was rescued from an animal hoarding situation. When I adopted her at 5 yrs old she was very skittish but hated the thundershirt I tried for her. In her senior years, her fur is thinning, but I was hesitant to get her a snug-fitting sweater that she would find uncomfortable. I like that this one can be quickly slipped over her head before she has a chance to protest and is easily adjusted from the top. The only problem I'm having is that she is too thin around her chest so that the top strap hangs way past the velcro and the leash gets caught under it. I'm going to add more velcro strips so that it will attach more securely. I suppose I could have ordered a smaller size, but I don't think it would have been long enough to cover her entire back side.
Great Dog Coat
My dog fit into the pound range of a size small. I will say he loves it, I love looking at him in it, (he is white and black and the teal really looks great). The coat is super easy to slip the neck piece over his head and the two velcro straps that go around his chest/tummy to his back never can get tangled in his fur! Great design. There are two elastic straps that can go around his back legs but it seemed to be too tight and awkward. He is a slim dog...a Papillon, but he has a long back and long legs. The small is actually a bit too big for him but it does fit okay. He is about 9 1/2 pounds, so a bigger Papillon than many.
Love the Coat
Love everything about this coat: it is warm & well insulated & keep my dog dry from the rain. The only thing is that there is no hole for harness! Had to cut a hole in it.
