What's the difference between this coat (the Juneau) and the Kodiak style by the same company?

This Juneau is made from a sturdy poly-cotton blend with poly fiber fill. The Kodiak is fleece-lined and made from a high-denier nylon shell and a poly-cotton blend inside.

Can you use this with a harness?

This jacket will have a small opening for leash attachment, where the neck attaches to the body of the coat. Please see the attached image for reference.

Where are the elastic leg straps? Not shown in photo, I'm hopeful they are around the hind legs (like a horse turnout blanket)?

Works great, but has a tiny disadvantage...

First of all, the measurements are TRUE to size, and the XX-Large is indeed XX-Large and is, therefore, too large for my dog. So I ended up getting a smaller size

First of all, the measurements are TRUE to size, and the XX-Large is indeed XX-Large and is, therefore, too large for my dog. So I ended up getting a smaller size (XL), which works great and is actually really warm for the price. I am overall pretty happy with it, but I've noticed that it rubs off my dog's hair on top of his shoulders on both sides. But I think this may be unavoidable when the jacket has a fitted front like this one. I'd strongly recommend using it with some base layer to reduce the rubbing of the material on top of the shoulder.

Excellent value with a funky feature

This is a well-constructed, moderate warmth jacket. I like that the outer fabric seems strong and rugged. Our dogs are Livestock Guardian Dogs, and hence are out with the herd 24/7 (with shelter, of course). Our dogs shed A LOT, and I've come to appreciate a warm but non-fuzzy lining that will not collect hair. We got the XXLarge, and it has a generous fit for our 110 lb dog. However, the length is short on our largest, 175 lb dog. The funky feature is that the closure is a velcro band that entirely encircles the body of the dog--no attachment to the actual body of the coat with the velcro, it overlaps like a belt. I think it will work out fine, and at this price this coat is a steal.

I have a small dog, typically sized medium, but has a large chest, puts her size at large/extra large. Jack Russell Chihuahua mix. Coat fit well in theory. Loved the closure that came under belly & over back. But my old girl had trouble moving in it. It was a little long over the butt. But the front leg holes seemed restrictive on her front legs, the way it fit. She tried, but tripped & fell coming up stairs from outside a few times before we gave up on it. Fit well, thick, quality material, strong hook & loop closure. Maybe just not great for an old girl with big chest but short legs. Loved the product, just doesn't work for the build of my older dog.

My dog, Dickens, is 26lbs with a neck at 15 inches, girth at 22 inches and length at 16 inches. He’s difficult because his neck is small, his girth is deep and his length is long. This coat in a medium fits him very well. Finally, a coat that goes around him and covers his back almost to his tail! We’ve had wind, snow, rain, and sleet in the last couple weeks with temps below 10 degrees Fahrenheit and Dickens’ back and chest stayed cozy warm. It’s easy on and off as well, and the leg straps are a plus in the wind. This will be our go to coat when winter weather gets challenging here in Michigan.

I have a 22 lb standard rat terrier, 22-in chest circumference, 16-in back, 14-in neck. Size medium is just on the edge of being too large (The waist wrap has a lots of leeway but we're right on the edge ) but I oversized it so we could fit warm layers underneath. I have the same coat for my 65 lb pitbull in xl ( also on the large side) for many years, looks brand new. I can even use the waist wrap as a lift now that she's has limited mobility near the end, it's that secure... they should consider adding a handle to it ! Doesn't irritate sensitive skin, washes beautifully. It's a really high quality nice coat at a very affordable price! Value is 12/10!!

Fits my fat dog

My dog isn’t super fat, mostly barrel chested. It’s pretty easy to out this jacket on her. The only difficult part is getting her head in but it’s still very easy!

I’ve owned several versions of these from different brands over the years, and this one stands out as the easiest to use and the highest quality. The Velcro is especially impressive; it actually stays secure even during heavy use! I primarily use these to keep my dogs warm while they’re kenneled during travel to and from hunting locations in cold conditions. On especially cold days, the dogs also wear them in the field, and so far they’ve held up extremely well. Overall, this is a great product!
