Good quality, a little heavy
I got this specifically because of that cold spell that came through and I was really worried that my dog would be cold on our walks. The sizing is a little tiny bit off, I bought a size too big and it covers all of her back and hangs off of her butt a little bit. My dog hates it because it goes over her head but I might try to alter it somehow. The velcro strap across the stomach helps keep it in place pretty well but it did shift around a bit and cause her to shake to try to adjust it. The little shaped hooded part also seemed to annoy her a little bit (probably because I got the wrong size) but it covers the collar and back of her neck. It seemed to be a little heavy because of the thickness, but her fur was nice and warm when we got home so I know it worked very well!
Great coat/Best Customer service
Heeey! Our Maggie loves her size L coat so much that she immediately went & laid down to chew on her antler with it on LOL! She's a 60lb Staffordshire Terrier mix (looks like a pittie) with 23length, 19 neck & 29 chest for size reference. I ordered the XL and it was too big. They switched it up for me with apologies to Maggie and a donation to our local rescue. Brought a tear to my eye! Absolutely wonderful customer service!
Perfect for a Pup That Hates Coats
My sweet pup (15 yrs old) was rescued from an animal hoarding situation. When I adopted her at 5 yrs old she was very skittish but hated the thundershirt I tried for her. In her senior years, her fur is thinning, but I was hesitant to get her a snug-fitting sweater that she would find uncomfortable. I like that this one can be quickly slipped over her head before she has a chance to protest and is easily adjusted from the top. The only problem I'm having is that she is too thin around her chest so that the top strap hangs way past the velcro and the leash gets caught under it. I'm going to add more velcro strips so that it will attach more securely. I suppose I could have ordered a smaller size, but I don't think it would have been long enough to cover her entire back side.
Great Dog Coat
My dog fit into the pound range of a size small. I will say he loves it, I love looking at him in it, (he is white and black and the teal really looks great). The coat is super easy to slip the neck piece over his head and the two velcro straps that go around his chest/tummy to his back never can get tangled in his fur! Great design. There are two elastic straps that can go around his back legs but it seemed to be too tight and awkward. He is a slim dog...a Papillon, but he has a long back and long legs. The small is actually a bit too big for him but it does fit okay. He is about 9 1/2 pounds, so a bigger Papillon than many.
Sturdy and large
Very nice jackets. Kept dogs dry during rain. I like not having to put my dog's paw through a hole. These give room for the neck and can fit snugly. The coat is very long and has elastic straps that I think are supposed to go around the hind legs. However, the straps aren't far enough back to be comfortable for the dog. The straps also will cut into the dog, especially if short hair. I wanted the one with more insulation, but these coats work very well, and my dogs do not seem cold.
Warmer Jacket
Our dog needed a warmer jacket and the one in the local pet store had an outrageous price. I found this coat on Chewy for half the price. The quality is excellent and the weight is just what I was looking for. Our dog is 13 pounds and the size guide recommended medium. The coat is a little too big. I'm not sure if a small would have been a better fit or would have been difficult to pull over her head.
Wish I had ordered the next size
This jacket goes on very easily and does not restrict movement when adjusted to fit. My dog seems comfortable when she wears it. However, it does not cover her all the back to her tail, nor are her hips covered. This despite I ordered a size that fell within the limits of the size chart. Quality is good.
Perfect fit!
Well made, perfect fit, great color (magenta). First try with this brand and glad it fits. Replacing a coat which velcroed under belly so over the years got full of hair. Love this wraps around her and velcros on top. Well thought out design. Only one small wish…make the leash hole a teeny bit bigger so fits a harness not just a collar. Otherwise, perfection! For reference, Asti is a small/medium pup, 27 lbs (jack russell/grd mix). Can be a medium or large in clothes depending on length. She’s in the medium!
Jaxx will Go out in the Rain with this Coat
This coat is easy on, warm, and best of all, waterproof. Kept my dog Jaxx almost completely dry - her head & her paw were wet but everything covered by the coat was dry. She hates the rain so this coat helps her deal with it. Measure carefully and you'll get the right size.
No More Shivers!!!
I absolutely love this coat it is top quality it keeps my 12 week old, 30 lb, puppy. Keeps her Super warm. No more shiverig when I bring her back inside after wearing this coat. I have the Magenta color. It slips right over her head and velcros over the back. I can take it off quick, no fuss. I don't have to use the leg straps, it stays in place. Any loose hair or dirt wipes right off!! Als, I did not add the extra 2 inches as in the size chart.
