Our Squirrel Dude arrived smelling like it’s been in a container with a melted vanilla candle. It’s a strong smell that permeated the whole kitchen. Ran it through the dishwasher and the smell didn’t change. Is that just how the toy is supposed to smell?

I have a 90 pound Dane/Dobbie mix who is a super chewer. This chew toy has lasted and is his favorite treat time toy. 4 years running and going strong still. I have found it fairly easy to clean by putting in the dishwaasher. Just want to have a second one for when he *hides* the toy and I have to scoot out of the house quick. lol. So waiting for a restock.

Wouldn't buy it again!

Squirrel Dude is a reasonably durable rubber toy with a hollow core in which treats can be inserted. I realize we're supposed to call it "enrichment" when we stuff a toy with snacks and give it to our dog. Mostly, I "enrich" Cowboy's life because I have something to do and need to distract him because he wants to help me with everything. Squirrel Dude is perfect for that. I break a Pedigree Dentastix chew into three pieces, shove them into Squirrel Dude, and add a biscuit to wedge everything into place. That usually gives me about an hour to work while Cowboy stays beside me (he's a dog who requires supervision) and chomps on the toy until the snacks have been freed. A Squirrel Dude usually lasts about three or four months before Cowboy manages to tear the opening, necessitating its replacement. If you have a "helpful" dog like mine who likes to participate in everything from room painting to changing watch batteries, it's well worth the investment to keep a couple Squirrel Dudes in the pantry.

small hole and the toy stinks

the hole is very small for my dog to lick peanut butter out of. she gets bored with it quick and she can't get any treats from it because the opening is so tiny

Long-lasting awesome favorite!

The toy has lasted 15 years and 3 doggos, the last is finally out of puppy stage chewing. Dents, but no damage or pieces missing. Love the ease of putting treats

The toy has lasted 15 years and 3 doggos, the last is finally out of puppy stage chewing. Dents, but no damage or pieces missing. Love the ease of putting treats in, but the fins inside help hold both small and large items. If I put a bigger milkbone type, I will break and place the knobby side in. It takes her awhile to empty, but keeps her working because small bits get broken off and falls out. After each meal, I fill her toys and hide them like Easter eggs. She loves it. This is the one that takes the longest. Two big thumbs up!

She also enjoys playing with it without the treats as the irregular bounce is fun. Next time, I will get the larger size as this is the medium

excellent!

I got the medium size for my pug (23lb) and her 40lb brother. I was a bit worried it’d be too big for her but it allows her to grip it easily. It was easy to stuff,

I got the medium size for my pug (23lb) and her 40lb brother. I was a bit worried it’d be too big for her but it allows her to grip it easily. It was easy to stuff, even with a small opening, and keeps her entertained and engaged. Neither dogs are super chewers so I expect this will last a long time.

My rescue girl did not grow up with toys before we got her. She has a serious diet restriction issue and so we are careful with chew toys and also with what we put into our homemade kong fillings. The squirrel is so sturdy and really fun for her. I highly recommend the squirrel.
