I have a large 18 lb cat. Will this box fit him?

This litter box is suitable for cats, 6 months and older, of any size. It is not intended for use by handicapped, incapacitated or very old cats that might experience difficulty in entering or leaving the litter box.

Is this compatible with the scoop free reusable tray?

You can use the PetSafe branded reusable tray with this box. However, you must use ScoopFree Crystal Litter. The ScoopFree Crystal Litter is formulated and pre-weighed to both be most effective in controlling odors and also will not strain or damage the motor.

How do you power the litter box? Is it by battery or is it plug in?

Are the crystals toxic to a dog, who has a tendency to “clean up” after the cats?

The blue crystal litter is made of a silica gel. The crystals are non-toxic and perfectly safe for people and animals if eaten accidentally. Silica gel is an inert substance that’s mined from the earth. A derivative of silica gel is used in many powdered drinks and soups as an anti-clumping agent. If your pet eats a couple of crystals or small bites of litter, they should be perfectly fine. Just provide your pet with water. The crystals will pass through their system. However, you should make sure your pet doesn't eat a large amount of litter. Contact your vet if you notice any changes in your pet's behavior or health or if you suspect your pet has eaten more than a few bites of any type of litter at one time. If your dog often tries to eat your cat's litter, you can take extra steps to keep your dog out of the litter box.

Works really well and have not had any issues except the litter catch on reusable litter tray sometimes falls off. But otherwise has worked the way it is advertised.

Holds very little waste. The litter that it comes with does not clump so it does not clean very well. I found I had to clean manually on a regular bases.

It’s easy to replace trays. However, the trays don’t last as long as said to due to smell. I have to replace them every week and even that isn’t soon enough. The

It’s easy to replace trays. However, the trays don’t last as long as said to due to smell. I have to replace them every week and even that isn’t soon enough. The company recommended replacing every 25 days for 1 cat use so their product doesn’t live up to their standard. Compared to other smart self cleaning boxes out there this one isn’t that special. The only nice thing about it is the ease of replacing trays. The rake doesn’t always get all of the poop in the compartment but instead stuck in the rake. The rake also pushes most of the litter behind it making it unusable for your cat thus you have to shake it back out. For the price of the box plus replacement trays, I expected better.

This is a terrible product. For the price, it is tacky & poorly made. It was too small for my cat & she ended up going on the sides & outside the box. The advertisement

This is a terrible product. For the price, it is tacky & poorly made. It was too small for my cat & she ended up going on the sides & outside the box. The advertisement said litter would not need to be changed for a month. It began stinking in a week. When we changed it, we discovered the tray was cardboard & it cost an additional $66. That tray had a small space for waste. Also waste material stuck to the apparatus during cleaning cycle & needed constant attention. I can't think of anything po a itive to say about product except that I'm glad to have returned it. I am writing this (it's the 1st time I've ever done this) so that others will not have to go thru what I did.

An x-ray at the vet showed he had been eating the crystal litter that is required for this box. He could have died. I will tell everyone and anyone who will listen to PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS BOX/LITTER.

Best system for the money

We've had our system a little over a year and a half and love it. The only issue we ever had was when our internet went down and Xfinity updated our modem to the

We've had our system a little over a year and a half and love it. The only issue we ever had was when our internet went down and Xfinity updated our modem to the latest version. It took several tries and several calls to Xfinity customer service to resolve the issue of the box and modem failing to work together. It was finally resolved, but during that time we had to physically inspect the box display to know when it was full instead of being able to use the app. One thing we did find out - the Scoop free folks will email you to let you know if your litter box has lost contact. The box will still work, but you definitely need internet service to access the system with your phone app. My favorite feature is their help system - once the display stopped showing the number of uses so I used the app to get service. They resolved the issue quickly and by the end of the day the display was once again working correctly. Also, even though the display had stopped temporarily we were still able to track usage through the app. While we were recently on vacation I was able to use the app to let my pet sitter know when it was time to change the box out. We've definitely been spoiled by this system, especially since we can easily track usage and determine when it's time to change the litter tray. Not having to scoop 2-3 times each day has been a game changer. We'll never go back to regular boxes again.
