I have eight cats and two dogs, all rescues. I scoop eight regular boxes in the mud room and have three auto boxes located in one guest room, the garage and Catio. All but one cat are officially seniors now so the auto boxes give them the opportunity to go closer to where they may be napping, etc. this covered model helps me sweep that room less.
I've had cats for a while and never have I had a litter box that smells so bad. I can change it and 12 hours later my whole house smells like cat poop. At first I thought I must be doing something wrong, and reread the instructions. Im literally changing it 2 times a week, when it says it could last up to a month before changes. Going back to normal litter boxes. This is a waste of money.
Two LARGE cats have used the original box [purple] for 7 years. When they are unable to get outside [snow!], it works for 28+ deposits, or 10 days max. If feces stick to rake, it's the food being used. I can clean the rakes with Clorox wipes or warm water. Spray rake with an oil. I also remove deposits from under the capture area, and scrape sides to into middle with the unused crystals. Its a way to extend the use & save $$. Easy to use. Prices have doubled in 7 years, a bummer. Starting new? Get the lid & paw mat. If cats are used to an open box, leave the lid off until they are used to box.
I found that often times, clumps of poop would end up sticking to the metal rake and getting stuck in there. Having to get on hands and knees with a chopstick trying to dislodge cat feces from the rake kinda defeats the point. AND at 200$ you might as well save up and buy the more expensive auto litter boxes. Not worth the price nor the fecal matter cleanup.
My two cats took to this new automatic litter box right away. They are thrilled with it. It is wider that I expected so it has been hard to find a good location but it is worth it.
Works pretty well. I do wish the rale had finer teeth to grab more clumps while moving. I've had to go back with a scoop and grab the ones missed.
cool its great awesome nice yaaaa wow cool bought it
