Not for us
This just made her more wild. Tried it with the so called beep first which she completely ignored. The ultrasonic just made her go nuts. She would immediately start digging whether inside or out as if she was trying to find the sound, even though she could see the device in hand. Tried both settings. Same basic result. I suppose it did distract her from whatever the bad behavior was, but she'd go from one bad behavior to digging almost every time. I can't recommend based on this, but other people had better results so maybe it will work for you.
Greatest invention ever!
This little gizmo has been an awesome for our German Shepherd, it actually works amazingly well! I am not a big fan of shock collars so when I saw this I thought why not give it a try and I am glad I did.
Does not work
We were so excited to receive this after reading all the reviews, until we tried it on our 6 month old puppy. We get no response from him, even when used at 5 ft away. The directions say use at 5-15 ft but the ad description says works up to 49 ft. Which is it? For us, it doesn’t work at all.
This product works for my dog!
We experimented with a few different gadgets but none of them seemed to work well. Feeling determined to find a solution I gave it one more shot and settled on this particular device. Our Dobermans known for their enthusiastic barking at almost anything and anyone could make quite a ruckus. Surprisingly after just one day of using this we noticed a significant change in their behavior. We stuck to using it consistently and over time we found that we needed it less frequently regardless of where they were. Our experience was quite positive and we hope you have similar success There are no guarantees but that's just the way life is Best of luck!
Amazing!
Best $30 you can spend. This works so well that I just have to press the beep button and my two little Malties stop their obsessive barking at guest. They were trained in a couple of days of receiving the device. So simple.
It works!!!
We have 4 Cattledogs (Blue Healers). They bark at everything. All the time!! After the very first use they stopped barking! Now all I do is either just make it beep without the US sound, or show them the device and they stop barking! I wish I’d bought this years ago!!
Doesn't work after the first couple of times
This worked fine for the first few times I used it. This morning at full charge and changing the tones made absolutely no difference. The dogs were barking and didn't even stutter...and would not buy again.

I got this item yesterday. Our boy is anatolian shepherd great pyrenees mix. This breed barks at everything and he is LOUD. He is a very smart boy, this small device stops his barking instantly and after using it once this morning, he's been unusually calm.
Skeptic at first, but now I would recommend this product...
I was initially skeptical of using dog deterrents because of reviews i've read for other products saying that it is not effective i also did not want to use deterrents with a shock collar even though i've read that those can be more effective especially with training but i really needed one to help my great dane stop barking or at least bark less so i decided to try this petspy ultrasonic deterrent and i am happy to say that it works my great dane has a loud bark and barks when people walk by our house he gets really fussy when guests come over and ring the doorbell our guests tend to be intimidated by my dog because he is so large and they flinch when he barks my great dane is actually super friendly and i don't want people to be scared of him preventing him from barking would be a good first step - guests don't attempt to pet or play with him until he stops barking Using the petspy ultrasonic deterrent helps a lot when i use the deterrent my great dane barks less when people walk by and i notice a change in his behavior upon hearing the ultrasonic sound he will walk away from the window and his bark will be softer than it usually is i am really happy with this product and will continue to use it to train my dog i take them with me while i walk my dog and when he starts barking at other people this device helps, a lot it helped me teach me and my dog a lot It is effective and really useful
It is effective and easy
I can usually control my dog using my voice but when he starts barking I sometimes need to speak loudly which is as bothersome as the barking itself.... I haven't used this gadget a lot but when I did it quickly stopped his barking. He seemed puzzled like asking What was that sound? As the instructions suggested I praised him with a Good Dog when he stopped barking. It's a great little device...
