Does this monitor read above 400?

There was no control solution included in the kit. The description on the box and on this website said there was a control solution included. How do I get the control solution??

Does this test work with the PetTest genteel painless lancets that are sold separately? It says on those lancets description that they only work with the "PetTest Genteel Lancing Device", is the lancing device in this kit going to work with those?

Easy tracking of your pets glucose reading

I have a male cat that has been an insulin dependent diabetic for about a year. My vet did a blood test and suspected that his diabetes went into remission and suggested

I have a male cat that has been an insulin dependent diabetic for about a year. My vet did a blood test and suspected that his diabetes went into remission and suggested that I monitor him for a few days. We tried a Freestyle Libre but it did not work. I found this kit and my vet thought it would be a good option. After monitoring his blood glucose every 3 hours for 3 days, it was determined that he was in full remission and he no longer needed the twice a day insulin injections. I gave this a 4 star because it was not "fully painless". My cat did flinch every time I drew blood and after the second day ran and hid when he seen me get the kit out. I will highly recommend this kit though because of the ease of sampling and the reader holds the numbers in memory. It also has a USB port to download the data into your Windows PC to generate a graph for tracking.

Very small amount of blood needed

This blood glucose machine is wonderful! Just make sure that it is set to the correct species, cat or dog, which is shown by a silhouette of either one.

Warning: The Less-Aggressive Blue Lancets Are Missing from this Kit

This kit only includes the aggressive maroon lancets (which are seven times more aggressive / painful than the blue lancets). According to the instructions the

This kit only includes the aggressive maroon lancets (which are seven times more aggressive / painful than the blue lancets). According to the instructions the kit is supposed to include once package each of both the blue and the maroon lancets but our kit only included two packages of the maroon (so you can try the less aggressive ones first on your pet). We called Chewy and they were great and sent us out a new kit right away but when we opened it we discovered the same problem -- two packages of maroon lancets instead of one package of maroon and one package of blue. We have contacted Chewy again and are waiting for a response but in the meantime want to let other pet owners know because this appears to be a manufacturing mistake.

If you have never taken a blood sugar, video is good, still helps to have an experienced medical friend explain. The suction aspect is very helpful. My dog has sensitive ears and does not even flinch.

Wonderful system

I've been using the Pet Test meter & strips from the beginning. Today is Kona's 4th sugarvesary. I bought this package for a backup to my current meter & Genteel

I've been using the Pet Test meter & strips from the beginning. Today is Kona's 4th sugarvesary. I bought this package for a backup to my current meter & Genteel. This system makes testing glucose quick, simple, accurate & painless. My dog is perpetually safe because I can test glucose & prevent hypoglycemia. I learned how thanks to the Facebook group Canine Diabetes Support & Information. My only concern about this kit is that the strips expire in a few days, & from experience I know that makes them inaccurate. Fresher strips should be included in the kit. Otherwise, I absolutely recommend this kit.

This device does not work. I have tried with all the provided rings to adjust the depth of the prick but I cannot get a bead of blood big enough for the meter. There

This device does not work. I have tried with all the provided rings to adjust the depth of the prick but I cannot get a bead of blood big enough for the meter. There is no reliable vacuum. The device creates a vacuum only half the time and is unpredictable. My dog will not sit still for repeated tries. For such an expensive tool is should work 100 percent.
