Why is my cat eating the litter?!

Answer by JennJun 11, 2025
I think it's the bentonite clay. I have never purchased this product, but I use the clay for my hair and face. My cat always try to eat some whenever I use it.

is this litter scented at all? maybe the clay part of it?

Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2023
This litter is made with a natural plant product without fragrance. It uses 32% all natural sodium based bentonite combined with STA particles to effectively suppress odors without the use of harmful additives.

can this litter be used in an automatic litter box?

Answer by ChewyNov 30, 2023
Pidan cat litter is generally suitable for most automatic litter boxes. However, the compatibility depends on the mesh size of the automatic litter box filter. Some automatic litter boxes are designed to work with specific types of litter, while other brands can work with multiple types of litter. Therefore, we suggest that you consult the user manual for your specific automatic litter box to determine the compatible litter types.

Can I put this in my yard waste bin for commercial composting?

Answer by ChewyJan 24, 2024
We do not recommend doing so because this cat litter contains 35% bentonite, which is an inorganic material that cannot be decomposed.

Too dusty! Air quality concerns when you scoop

I wear a mask when scooping but I can still inhale the dust and keep coughing because my throat hurts. If I could upload a video you will see better. Just compare

I wear a mask when scooping but I can still inhale the dust and keep coughing because my throat hurts. If I could upload a video you will see better. Just compare the second photo and the last. The color of the bottom of the bin are different. You can see in the second photo taken when I scoop, the bin is grayer. That’s how much dust you can get..

I have been using this litter for almost a year and for a while loved it as it was low tracking and low dust compared to the worlds best litter but the most recent batches seem to be WAYYYYY dustier and I’ve noticed my cats sneezing often when they use the litter box. I also noticed a slight change in color when clumping and is way more sticky. Has the formula changed ?

I used to use Swheat Scoop which I still like but I wanted to cut down on dust and tracking throughout the joint. This does the trick. I have a young cat who recently was adopted so I figured he'd be good switching litter (and he was). Also weirdly it's more aesthetically pleasing? Probably a bad reason to buy litter but whatever.

Best litter I’ve ever tried

I wish this litter wasn’t as good as it is because it’s a bit more expensive, but it’s our favorite litter we’ve tried. We needed something low dust and low tracking

I wish this litter wasn’t as good as it is because it’s a bit more expensive, but it’s our favorite litter we’ve tried. We needed something low dust and low tracking. With previous litter, it was small and tracked everywhere and it was so dusty we had little paw prints all over the couch. This one tracks a bit, but the pieces are larger so it’s so easy to see and clean up. And there are no dusty paw prints. Also it covers the smell SO well. We love this litter so much.

We have been trying different tofu litters and i really like them, there is almost no smell, the feces is desiccated quickly, and the urine is formed into easily scooped balls. Especially love the container, as its easy to store and access the litter as opposed to the bags which do not close after opening..

This litter has some pros and cons. My cats litter set up is in the basement right under the stairs. Pros: It creates zero dust which is great if you or your cat are asthmatic. I love to see that there’s no dust residue on the sides of the litter box or in any of the surrounding areas! Tracking is also minimal. It still tracks but the range is concentrated to the space outside of the litter box/litter mats. I’ve used many other types of litter (clay, grain, pellet) and the other types would track all the way up the stairs to my first floor. Now I only sweep or vacuum the main litter space under the floor. The pidan is also easier to sweep because there’s not as much tracking, you can see it, and you’re not left double checking to see if you missed any tiny pebbles. It also clumps really well and any unused litter sifts really well back into the box. The scoop doesn’t get dusty crusty nasty like it does with other litters. Cons: this litter definitely has some cons that cannot go unnoticed. First the smell. I have a three cat household and it does nothing for the poo smell. It’s so bad I can smell it from the top of the stairs on my first floor even after trying a couple litter deodorizers. It’s just flat out terrible. I keep a very clean house and clean the box everyday. Now I’ve even started cleaning twice because of the smell. Something’s gotta be done about this. Especially since the second con is the price. It’s a pretty steep price for the amount you are buying.

Cat pees in box again!

My cat Frida has had issues in the past not using her box, i did everything except change litter brands. I decided to change to this one and she loves it not to

My cat Frida has had issues in the past not using her box, i did everything except change litter brands. I decided to change to this one and she loves it not to mention it doesn’t stink that much either. Its not completely odorless but its way better than other litters. Best combo has to be a steel litter box and this litter forsure!

Goodbye smell

I love this litter! It’s not to messy and easy to clean. Also I notice the litter box doesn’t smell as bad as with others!

Not bad for a tofu and clay combination cat litter.

I can't complain about this cat litter. There are some pros and cons. Pros it does a great job at masking the scent of poo and pee, does a pretty good job at clumping,

I can't complain about this cat litter. There are some pros and cons. Pros it does a great job at masking the scent of poo and pee, does a pretty good job at clumping, and the portion control on these containers are pretty impressive. One container can last 3 weeks depending on the size of your litter box. Also, it doesn't have much of a fragrance. Cons does trail through the house, and the price per container being close to $30 is pretty steep.
