I misread the description- I thought it was a soft landing source for my aging Dove, but it's not. He wont use it. It is nice for birds who are not as fussy.
The perch works well enough because we have other things to support it but when i put it up the wingnut on one post got stuck. I ended up accidentally pulling out the post instead. Not made the best but our cockatiel enjoys it. Probably better to find something better made though.
So far my birds are both afraid of this new item in their cage. When I first showed them the loft they were alarmed but because they trust me I was able to place it in their cages. I am pretty sure that after a few weeks curiosity will take over and they will investigate these new items in their cage.
Our conure loves this shelf area. We put treats on it so throughout the day he climbs up to have some snacks. The sandpaper feel also has been keeping his nails trim and not so sharp. It fit nicely in the corner of his cage and feels secure.
