Easy DIY Waterfall Is Clearing the Water

A year ago we started a small wildlife pond (about 4x5 feet) with 8 mosquito fish, 2 comets, 3 minnows and some Japanese trapdoor snails. After the almost nonstop

A year ago we started a small wildlife pond (about 4x5 feet) with 8 mosquito fish, 2 comets, 3 minnows and some Japanese trapdoor snails. After the almost nonstop rains this year in northern Calif, it was very green with algae. Well, because of the algae we decided to put a pump and small waterfall to aerate. We decide on the 8-inch Pond Boss Spillway so we could put bio balls and some other things in to help alleviate the issue. During the first week we rinsed out the bio and filter materials daily, and now every other day or two. Not only does the spillover create a lovely waterfall, but the containment area is large enough to catch a lot of algae in the materials and the water has cleared up. And... we are happy to report that there are now some frogs living there, and today we even watched a garter snake sunning on some rocks by the water. We love our Pond Boss Waterfall
