Smaller than I thought and oval shapped

I wanted to get this to store water for a road trip. I filled it with water, but the shape doesn't stay open to for ease of access. I folded it down as you can do

I wanted to get this to store water for a road trip. I filled it with water, but the shape doesn't stay open to for ease of access. I folded it down as you can do that and it was rounded. When I went to fold it back up it got water everywhere. Seems best to have a hard surface underneath. I sealed the pouch and tipped it and water came rusing out. So needless to say not a very good seal for water. I liked the idea of a large enough bowl for water, but I'm not sure it's going to work due to spilling.
