I got these for my two teething border collie puppies. Both of them enjoy elk antlers so I thought I would see how moose antlers would compare. The moose antlers I received were as advertised in size, and I expected variation in size and type/section of antler since this is a natural product that I'm ordering online and not choosing myself at the pet store. Moose antlers were much softer than elk antlers. My 3 yr old border collie snuck into the puppy pen and took the moose antler and chewed about half of it in an hour. She's always been an aggressive chewer and will choose natural antler chews over plastic or nylon chew alternatives. The puppies also liked these moose antlers to chew on. I think my dogs like the spongy/porous, marrow bone-type of texture which you can see in the pictures. I think my elderly border collie would like one of these of his own. He tries to chew antlers but at 17 yrs old I worry he might break a tooth on a hard antler! Would I buy these again? Yes for my senior border collie. I would consider these again for a short term chew for the more aggressive chewers in the house too especially if I need to keep them occupied in a pen or a crate.
The antler piece that we got was nasty. My Yorkie chewed it up in about 2 days and the marrow went everywhere. It was not like the first one we bought when we first got our dog. He is still working on that one although we bought it in early March. I will not buy these again!
The ones i got were smaller than advertised. Not worth the money.
