I had purchased this toy from a mix and match sale, had i looked more carefully i wouldnt have purchased it (i thought it was paper at a glance). fleece is NOT SAFE FOR BIRDS. especially small birds lkke cockatiels or budgies who would be likely the ones getting such a thing. why is fleece unsafe you might be asking yourself, well lets get into it. Fleece is a material made from plastic, first off. so that means jf your bird decides the little pilled up balls on the fleece look like delicious seeds, theyre going to eat it and end up impacted. even if they dont eat it directly and simply groom or lick on it, theyre still going to get fleece fuzz in their mouth/crop, which can add up over time as fleece doesnt break down at all (its plastic after all). this product is also inappropriate for birds as fleece will hold onto to dirt, germs and dust. its not able to be cleaned unless you destroy the toy and seperate the pieces. if all this wasnt bad enough for you, consider the following: your bird can also get their claws (or other body parts) stuck in the material from areas theyve made a hole in and possibly break them. as gruesome as this sounds, its the cold hard truth. fleece shouldnt be included for bird toys. at all. period.
