Playstand for Companions
By Jorflan on Jan 8, 2021
I had plans to buy this for a half a year, but never got around to doing so. My partner and I moved in with my grandparents, and just yesterday asked about getting them a gift (the playstand). We accepted the kind gesture, and not even 24 hours later..the playstand arrived (along with my other box from chewy). Didn't have any issues putting it together (minus performance anxiety if someone walked down to see how it was going), and had it put together just before dinner or less than thirty minutes after it arrived. As for the little ones, they love it!!! We have a few toys coming in, but even without the toys they're having a great time!

She's still getting used to it
By Barley on Jan 23, 2021
My bird is very afraid of new things and this is no different. She has only been on it once for a very brief time. Hoping she gets better with it soon. Other than her dislike of it, it's very nice. The bar to hang toys from could be further out so the toys aren't right on her.

this is awesome for your cockatiel

My cockatiel loves this play set. It is nice and small so it can fit in places easily and you can place bunches of toys on it.

perches/ Dowels are an issue
By steps on Jun 28, 2020
My 20 yr old Senegal took no time climbing onto this play stand. Bird parents know how it can take a long time for birds to become comfortable with a new item. She did chew the dowels within a week. At this rate they will not be functional after less than a month. Unfortunately chewy or the Preview company does not offer replacement dowels for this product. I will need to improvise. The perches have a hole going all the way through that fit over a narrow”pipe”& they are than bolted in place.

I think it's excellent and of excellent quality.
By Raymond on Jun 16, 2020
I think it's an excellent, high quality product. My Cockatiel loves it and as time goes on, I'm sure I'll be adding more and more toys and stuff to it. The only suggestion I'd give to the manufacturer is to make the ladder rungs thicker (larger diameter).

Quality Product
By jjevansauthor on Mar 5, 2020
One of the most appreciated items with this product is the directions. They were clear and concise. This stand is mfg with quality. Everything fit the way it should...except for the seed guard. I can never understand why the flanges never match up with the way they are to be attached to the stand or cage. I have a,ways had to bend them to get them to fit. Always a pain. Hence minus one star. Other than that, nice product. I also attached about ten pvc pieces for even more climbing options. I also added two small food/water cups since originals are too low.

disappointed
By garycooper on Mar 3, 2020
When I first purchased the play stand my birds took a liking to it fast and initially I was very happy with the product. Now having owned the play stand for over a year it is completely falling apart, poorly made and breaks very easily

Parrot playstand
By DemandaPrecious on Oct 28, 2019
The Parrot Playstand is very well built and my bird took to it fairly quickly. There two problems. First, the food dishes are one the lower part of the stand. My bird perches above and always poops in the dishes. I stay vigilant to this and clean out the dishes frequently as needed. I do wish these dishes were set on top. The second are the 4 corners. Once again I’m cleaning bird poop out of the corners which requires taking the 8 screws and nuts out, taking the seed guard completely apart. Putting the four pieces back together is an interesting task done by oneself.

Mostly positives, a couple of negatives
By ParrotMom on Dec 2, 2019
I bought this playstand for my Eclectus parrot Ivan a few months ago, and it's been so nice to have it since Ivan’s main cage is upstairs and there's no way to bring it downstairs when I'm busy down there. If I didn't have the playstand, Ivan would be stuck alone upstairs, screaming non-stop for me, and I would be going nuts. So, this playstand is great for parrot owners’ mental health! I can roll it from the kitchen to the living room to the TV room to my bedroom, etc., and Ivan can be wherever I am. It rolls easily, even across thick carpet. My husband was able to put this together in maybe half an hour because he is a mechanical kind of guy. He looked at the instructions and it was easy I bought this playstand for my Eclectus parrot Ivan a few months ago, and it's been so nice to have it since Ivan’s main cage is upstairs and there's no way to bring it downstairs when I'm busy down there. I can roll it from the kitchen to the living room to the TV room to my bedroom, etc., and Ivan can be wherever I am. It rolls easily, even across thick carpet. My husband was able to put this together in maybe half an hour because he is a mechanical kind of guy. He looked at the instructions and it was easy for him. Like many parrots, Ivan likes to be in the most elevated place possible, so he always wants to climb to the metal bar on the top, which doesn't have a perch. My husband attached to that bar (with zip ties) a 1.25” dowel we had on hand--Ivan isn't interested in destroying zip ties (or anything else!), and he likes to hang out up there at the top much of the time. I also bought a clip-on feeding dish (double dish, actually--one on either side of the perch with a clip in the middle) and am able to clip it either onto the wider dowel installed by my husband, or onto the 7/8”-diameter perch below the husband-installed perch, to provide extra food or water. (The actual perches that come with this stand in front of the food and water dishes are 5/8" diameter.) The stand is easy to clean. Just wipe it off with a wet paper towel. At first this seemed like too much work for me, but . . . it's a parrot . . . it will never be work-free. The only challenging thing to clean is the wooden perches, but that will always be the case with parrots. I had my husband remove the seed catchers, thinking it might be easier to clean up the floor below the stand without them--but a month later I had him reinstall the seed catchers, as I realized they make cleaning easier rather than more difficult. My main complaint with this stand is, as others have mentioned, the placement of the two food dishes. If the bird is perched above them, you can count on having to clean out the bowls multiple times a day (if you care about your parrot). The water and food dishes will be poop catchers. I wish these dishes had been situated at either end of the higher wooden perch (the perch the stand comes with). I plan to have my husband drill holes in the ends of the still-higher perch he created that sits on the metal bar at the top, and put the food dishes there instead. So, yeah, this took some work, and will still take some work, to get it right, but overall I'm very glad to have it, and Ivan seems to be fine with it. And my mental health is holding steady . . . . … more
