Great concept

I love the concept behind the PupPod. I really liked that. It was a camera, a remote treat dispenser, and an enrichment game. However, I feel like this is a case of doing too many things, and in doing so not being great at any of them. I have an animal training background, and I’m very experienced with positive reinforcement training. My main issue with the PupPod is how long it takes to dispense the treats. It is a good 5 to 6 seconds, and while with training, you can work an animal up to this amount of delay between the bridge or marker signal and receiving the reinforcers, it is hard for them to make the connection starting off with this delay. If your dog is extremely food, motivated, they might persevere through this confusion to eventually make the connection. My second concern is that progressing through the levels is done with a Trial and error approach. This has been shown to be more frustrating and less effective than errorless learning (see BF Skinners research on errorless learning with pigeons pecking buttons). I still think it’s a great overall concept, and with some work would be a great product. All it would need to do, would be to pre-load the treats, so it could dispense them in a timely manner. The rocker is designed super well, and the app is very user-friendly.

This product deserves all the praise in the world we’re constantly finding new things to do with it like move the toy to another room for him to run back and fourth from the feeder/toy, making homemade treats for it, etc it’s provided us with so much fun PupPod is great and customer support is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They go above and beyond in making sure any questions are answered. Everything is so well thought out, even the app! Thank you to PupPod and everyone over at the support team :)
A great way to give your pup exercise, both physically and mentally, plus feed

This is the best interactive toy and feeder combination for puppies (and even older dogs). It gives them mental stimulation by learning how to touch the Pod to get kibble and then by remembering where the kibble has been "shot". Then there is physical exercise by going back and forth between the pod and the feeder to watch the action and to search for the food. It can easily be a meal replacement tool as the feeder will hold 2 cups of kibble. It will notify your phone app when it is out of food and stops automatically or you can stop it whenever you want to remotely. The camera was not working for video, so I emailed the owner. I immediately received a response and he worked out a customer service call where they updated the software on the feeder, which was an easy process that fixed this and another glitch that made it stop too unexpectedly. The camera now works great and I can see video of my pup for as much of the time as I choose. He loves this toy and I love the time it gives me to do other things or to even feed him while I leave the house. With the great customer service, the proactive way they are with their business and the upgrading of their product, I think this is just the best company and highly recommend this.

Can't live without it
I love this so much. I had the original one, paired to my Pet Tutor and now I have the current one. Much better set up. Andrew in Customer Service is incredible

Super responsive to emails, you can set up a phone call, really fast replies. He is warm, smart and genuine and makes great suggestions. He is so patient, like the way customer service used to be, at really great companies. I hook my dog up with his after a walk when I need to make dinner and there's noise in the condo hallways and he needs to be distracted. I use freeze dried cat treats, since they fit in better than do the dog ones. A couple times I had an issue and I was so desperate and he was very calming. My cat watches Bo go after his treats in utter fascination. If Bo waits to look hunting for treats, the puppod turns off, so then I just turn it back on. If he didn't have his PupPod it would create a big hole in his existence. And it keeps him occupied! Totally worth every penny.

By the time the treat kicked out my dog had already touched the pod probably half a dozen more times. My dog understands the concept of the pod toys, as he has other brands of them, this one just didn’t fit the bill and left my dog extremely frustrated after using. I mean the whole unit itself is nicely put together and sturdy just the timing was not ideal with food dispensing and so we no longer use it. We tried for over a month to get it to work quicker and had no success.

This makes it really boring. Tried to like it, but neither myself nor my pup do. He will spend at max 5 min engaging with it before he’s bored and he is super food motivated so he rarely disengaged with food dispensing toys
