Our Quail went nuts over the meat bird crumble. They were fighting for a place in the pile. I was amazed at how much they enjoyed it and how they flocked to the piles. It was really windy today, but that didn't stop them from cleaning up the piles really quickly. We don't actually eat them and are looking forward to chick season which will increase our flock that now stands at 100+.

You can depend on Purina to make a great feed, regardless of the type. We’ve used this for our meat birds before with great results. It’s also a great occasional treat for laying hens, especially when they’re molting or the weather is cold. We live in upstate New York, and the winters can be brutal. The extra boost of protein/calories keeps our birds bellies full and warm. I prefer pelleted feed, but Purina crumbles are far easier to feed than some of the other brands. A lot of times crumble type feed is dusty and contains too much powder, but this food is consistent and great. I prefer non medicated foods as well as to not overburden my animals with drugs they don’t necessarily need.

Chickens LOVE it!

I do not have any baby chicks at this time (way too cold) but I have been using this feed as a top dressing over their regular layer pellets. It is a fine crumble

I do not have any baby chicks at this time (way too cold) but I have been using this feed as a top dressing over their regular layer pellets. It is a fine crumble but they clean the feeders of every little speck! It seems to help them tolerate the 20 degree weather better and I’m actually getting eggs again, even though the days are still short. My theory is that the extra protein helps keep them fatter and warmer. In the spring I will try it with chicks. I think it will work well being a small crumble.

Chickens Gobbled it up!

This chicken feed looks very good and smelled fresh,as far as chicken feed goes. NIce light yellow color and good sized crumbles. It did not have a lot of fine dust

Best Meatbird Feed

I have been a longtime user of this fed having raised 100’s of meatbird chickens and this is the only feed i used and never had a problem losing birds and weight

I have been a longtime user of this fed having raised 100’s of meatbird chickens and this is the only feed i used and never had a problem losing birds and weight gain was excellent with harvest at 6-7 weeks with a 5# average. I also use it to supplement my layers with extra protein during molting periods.
