This is an oats grain based feed, with cane molasses, so not low sugar, but does also have beet pulp as an ingredient. As far as I can tell "textured" means that it has whole oats, and not a uniform pellet blend. I feed according to the directions, as a supplement to pasture and hay. While my horse is not a high performer, it's great at keeping her in good shape over the winter when some extra energy, protein, and fiber do her well when it's colder out.

Recently tried this bag out and really like this for my horses, horse approved too. It’s clear that this feed is formulated with hard-working and competitive horses in mind. The balanced mix of fats, fiber, and natural whole grains seems to give great sustained energy and support throughout longer rides and workouts. I also love how it includes added vegetable oils and that special high-fat nugget blend, which has noticeably helped my horse maintain a shiny coat and good body condition. It’s been easy to feed alongside hay during the cold months, and I’ve had zero issues with pickiness. They seem to really enjoy it. This is a great, highly palatable feed for horses working in a discipline with high energy needs. As an endurance rider, I plan to use this feed when my horses are in active competition. They are on a bit of a break now since I have been side-lined by an injury so I am feeding them based on their lower energy requirements. However, they love it so much that I give them a handful to entice them back into their stalls when I am asking them to come in at an unexpected time. It works every time!

I have had my two horses on the same grain for a few years now, but I added this to their current grain and boy let me tell you how they inhaled their food with this added in! I will most definitely be putting my one horse on this grain to start with my next autoship order since she loved it so much, she is a slow eater but not with Omolene 500 mixed in with her current grain, she eats it super fast!
