Rex has several dermatological issues that my vet has been trying to figure out and treat. She recommended I switch to Purina Pro Plan as it’s been studied. He is also getting a good Omega 3 and probiotics. And they are small dogs with rather prickly tastes and they love the Purina Pro Plan beef. And we’ve gone through about 1 case with no reactions. I’m very happy.

I have used the Purina Pro Plan brand in the past, so I was familiar with the quality. The can food had consistent smooth texture and an enticing aroma that piqued my dogs interest immediately. I like to give my dogs things like lick mats to slow down their ingestion and keep them busy. This formula worked great for that purpose and evidently was very tasty, as it kept them busy for more than 15 minutes (which is a win). I will also be mixing with kibble and freezing in a toy -- to also keep them busy and out of trouble.

My dogs' favorite dog food

I confess I roast chicken for my dogs and serve it on their kibble (a brand recommended by the breeder of my Toller) but Purina Pro Plan makes me think I am crazy

I confess I roast chicken for my dogs and serve it on their kibble (a brand recommended by the breeder of my Toller) but Purina Pro Plan makes me think I am crazy for doing this. My dogs love this stuff; I mean it is like I can't make dinner and promised the kids we would eat out at McDonalds kind of love. Lots of screaming, barking, etc. when I even pick up the can. Roast chicken does not receive the same response. I am a true believer in Purina, it is all I feed for all my other animal foods (horse feeds, cat food, etc) due to the fact Purina manages it's supply chain like no other animal food manufacturer which gets you a high quality product and also a safe product. Purina Pro Plan Essentials smells like real food, has a great texture they love and obviously a great taste they crave. I have tried all Purina Pro Plan flavors and formulations (such as chunky, etc.) but I have to say this one is their absolute favorite. I am now incorporating it into my regular feeding for the convenience on hectic days and when we travel (you can't beat the convenience of taking it with you).

My dog gobbled this food up! I have an incredibly picky eater. My 50 pound pittie likes almost nothing. I have tried raw food, which he ate for six months and then stared at it, kibble, freeze dried, food with toppers, you name it. But this wet food he absolutely adored. The first ingredient is real meat which makes both of us happy. It's so much better than dry and I know that he is getting good nutrition. Thrilled he's finally found something he'll eat consistently, silly boy.
