These freeze-dried treats are suitable for dogs and cats and can easily be broken into smaller pieces, if needed.

Is this a raw product and does this include the fish organs and bone or only the fish muscle meat?

All of Purpose products are freeze-dried raw, meaning the ingredients are raw at the time they undergo the freeze-drying process. This removes moisture leaving the product nearly the same nutritional value as traditional raw but with greater safety and convenience. Purpose Fish & Veggie Grain-Free Freeze-Dried Dog Food contains fish muscle meat with some organs.

Yes, there are whole fish parts like scales and bones in these patties and I've been poked but I just have to pay attention. I actually like seeing the whole ingredients in there, makes me feel like it's less processed. I have a small-medium dog who simply loves the fish and the beef variety. This one is flakier than the beef and both lasts us quite a while as we mix it in with other things.

Love the fish

I bought a bag of the fish not knowing how well it would be received. It was a big hit with all four of my Chihuahuas. I have no fear of the product. It is not dangerous,

I bought a bag of the fish not knowing how well it would be received. It was a big hit with all four of my Chihuahuas. I have no fear of the product. It is not dangerous, as one silly person wrote. It is fish with bones in it but the bones are easily broken into bits. My four have smaller mouths and they have never ever had an issue with the bones from any of the freeze dried foods. I always moisten the patties after breaking them up. If I feel something too big to eat, I break it down so the can safely consume it. The food is good quality and loved by all dogs. I am here to buy more for my crew so that they can continue to have a healthy source of fish in their diets. I highly recommend this food. Don't be afraid of the food and bones. They are not dangerous. If you are worried about size of the bones, trim them down to smaller pieces any dog can eat safely. Your fish loving dog should thank you for a very tasty meal.

DO NOT BUY. Danger for animals to consume. This food is an absolute disaster! Besides it being as hard as a rock this stuff is dangerous and it hurts my hands and fingers. I can’t imagine what it does to the dogs throats! This food is filled with tiny splinters. They get all over my hands and fingers and actually penetrate black gloves!! It’s smells terrible. Like vomit level. But this stuff is dangerous and was thrown in the trash.

Threw it out

When I opened this package to feed my two dogs -- I immediately saw bits of sharp fish bones throughout. I was afraid to give it to our pets and threw it out.

I've been struggling to find foods that don't trigger yeast allergies; it always seems like it is the things you thought were good turn out to be not good for dogs with yeast sensitivity...like sweet potatoes! I was already avoiding potatoes, almost EVERY food has potatoes in some form. This Purpose Fish & Veggie has helped in a BIG way; she has stopped chewing her feet, her eyes are no longer watery and her big business is much less odorous. Best of all, it is quality food AND she loves it! Thank you Purpose and thank you Chewy!
