Can be served as is or re-hydrated by adding warm water. When feeding dry, please make sure fresh water is always available.
Rehydration: Crumble and add a quarter cup of water for two patties.

There is some big sharp pieces of bone in this brand. Not ideal when you have to crumble it! Plus although raw bone is safe for dogs this is not ideal. Otherwise

Omgosh it stinks
My non picky eater won't touch it. It smells HORRIBLE. She would literally rather eat chicken poo than this stuff. We got our shipment in about an hour ago, reconstituted
My non picky eater won't touch it. It smells HORRIBLE. She would literally rather eat chicken poo than this stuff. We got our shipment in about an hour ago, reconstituted it in her regular bowl, and she absolutely refused it. She hasn’t eaten today at all because we were waiting on this order, so she is definitely hungry. I have NEVER seen her refuse any food except raw carrots until this. It's rather odd. Maybe other dogs will like it, but ours definitely does not.

I appreciate that Purpose makes rabbit, and other single meat protein freeze-dried products that are also free of peas, legumes, soy, wheat, flax, and rice for pet
I appreciate that Purpose makes rabbit, and other single meat protein freeze-dried products that are also free of peas, legumes, soy, wheat, flax, and rice for pet owners like me who need to spend hours reading labels to avoid these ingredients. My girl is a high energy, 6yrs young, 35lb lab mix w/significant protein & food allergies. Rabbit is one of two proteins she can eat without breaking into rash & hives. She will eat anything, including everything she's allergic to, and has never been picky about food. So surprise (!!) she loves this food! The squares are about the size of my palm and can be broken apart into smaller chunks by hand quite easily, as the squares are not as densely compacted as other freeze-dried rabbit products we've tried (Primal and Stella & Chewy for example). The Purpose Rabbit freeze-dried recipe also has fewer ingredients (good for my girl) and is less expensive than both the Primal Rabbit freeze-dried Nuggets and Stella & Chewy's Rabbit freeze-dried patties. I will gladly buy these again! That said, if Purpose Rabbit freeze-dried squares were not available for some reason, I would still buy Stella & Chewy's or Primal rabbit freeze-dried products as suitable alternatives. We have not tried the Vital Essentials rabbit freeze-dried squares, which has the fewest ingredients of all. Regardless, thank you Purpose for making rabbit, single protein, freeze-dried products w/limited additional ingredients, which is increasingly difficult to find.

I like that the formula is mostly meat. I mix this in with Honest Kitchen dehydrated, and pups go crazy over it. This formula is very dry and hard compared to Stella
I like that the formula is mostly meat. I mix this in with Honest Kitchen dehydrated, and pups go crazy over it. This formula is very dry and hard compared to Stella and Chewy’s, but it makes no difference to me or my pups since I rehydrate their freeze-dried food. The water does make this food soft and pups eat it without issues. I crumble it to make sure it’s easy to eat for them. I will continue to purchase these patties and include in their rotation. As an end note, it did not upset my puppy’s sensitive stomach.

I've purchased other freeze dried dog foods in the recent past but this one seems to stand above them all! This isn't ground up powder like most freeze dried raw
I've purchased other freeze dried dog foods in the recent past but this one seems to stand above them all! This isn't ground up powder like most freeze dried raw foods, it's real pieces of meat, so when hydrated it really looks appetizing. My dog goes positively nuts when I am preparing it, and he rarely goes crazy over food! I like that it's higher in calories than most of these freeze dried raw foods, so it's more economical. My dog and myself are loving this food! I will be ordering more!
