This was my first bag trying it and my dog loves the food, and she's very picky. However, Redbarn will not provide the ratios of the meat and organs in the food, so I'm going to discontinue feeding it, as dogs should not be fed more than 10-15% organ meat each day. Vital Essentials does provide the ratio, 45% meat, 45% organ and 10% bone. While still very high in organ meat, the company did provide the information.

My dogs are picky and I hoped that this would encourage them to eat better. I did have to soak it in broth to get them to eat it, but since starting the food they have struggled going potty and when they do, it isn't easy on them or me as I have to wash them each time. Maybe too much protein? I might switch to one with some fiber included with it.

Dog loves it.

I have a picky/spoiled GSD. He would prefer fillet mignon everyday. Won’t even eat can wet food. I found this Redbarn that I use as a topper for his normal dry food

Better than treats

My dogs constantly bug me throughout the day for treats since I started giving them a few kernels of this.

Actual beef chunks not dry kibble

I’ve been looking for healthy alternatives I can use to mix in with kibble. I usually feed canned as a topper and have kibble but babygirl is NOT a huge kibble fan

I’ve been looking for healthy alternatives I can use to mix in with kibble. I usually feed canned as a topper and have kibble but babygirl is NOT a huge kibble fan. Understandable, I imagine it’s not all that exciting haha I’ve tried several different brands that were meant to be healthier options. She seems to be alright with red barn beef with jerky but there’s barely any jerky in there! So I turned to this to add in as a supplement. She ate it on her own with no prompting the first few times! She’s a little over it now so I put a little bone broth or gravy over it and she gobbles all of it up. At this point I think the quality of food is good but she wants variety of taste and texture. I’m still figuring it out! But her stool smells a lot better as well. When I was feeding cheaper dog foods it was AWFUL! I hated going on our walks and picking up after her. It’s not too bad now. Overall satisfied!
