What are the interior dimensions?

The interior dimensions of the Large size box are 25″ W x 20″ H x 18″ D. The interior dimensions of the X-Large size box are 31″ W x 20.5″ H x 21″ D.

Is the opening for the cat on the left or right side of the box? Does the cabinet come with the liner that the litter pan sits in, or is that a separate purchase?

The entryway is reversible and can be put on the left or right. The litter liners are included with the litter box.

Is the Espresso a deep brown color or is it black?

I love how big this cabinet is. We use a tote for a litter box with part of 1 side cut out. This tote is big as we have big cats. It fits perfectly inside of this cabinet. The instructions are easy to read and understand and it goes together very well. It came with the flat door panels and the cottage ones were shipped separately so you will have an extra set if something were to ever happen them. I did not opt for the carbon filters but we scoop daily and don’t notice a smell at all. The opening for the cat to enter is big and accommodates our 13lb and 14lb cats. The doors are soft close which is nice. The finish was nice and without defects. Highly recommended!
