I was excited to give Regal Farmhouse Recipe a try. It’s made with high-quality, clean ingredients like chicken meal, duck meal, and green mussels. It doesn’t contain corn, soy or wheat. And it’s loaded with vitamins, probiotics, glucosamine and Omega-3’s from fish oils and flax seeds. When I opened the package, I was thrilled to see a Velcro-like seal rather than a zip-lock (hallelujah!) and little morsels, a bit larger than chocolate chips! My dog is a toy breed, and these morsels are a perfect size for him. I must preface the rest of my review by saying that my dog is the pickiest eater I’ve ever come across. Much to my surprise, he devoured the first bowl he ate, but I’ve been fooled before! He’s been eating his food for the last week and a half, so I am cautiously optimistic that maybe we’ve found our food. Only time will tell! My only wish is that the protein count were a little higher, but he is better off eating this than turning his nose up to higher protein options.

My Aussiedoodle has a sensitive system so I was concerned how his skin, tummy, and coat would react with the food. He didn’t get itchy like other kibble, and his coat actually got softer! I did notice he was drinking more water, but it’s starting to get a little warmer in Virginia so I didn’t think anything of it. I usually sit on my back deck while the dogs are playing or doing their business, and I got a whiff of…ahem…dog digestion. The doodle was making his business but it was heftier than usual. Fully solid, but WHOA. I took off one star because of the genuine smell, but the doodle is walking around feeling lighter and happy!

I like the fact that the food contains real chicken and duck meal. It also has probiotics for gastrointestinal health. If your furry friend has itchy skin this holistic food will help with a shiny coat and healthy skin as well. I highly recommend and you can get this highly rated food from our favorite online store too....chewy.com!!

All 5 dogs really like this food. Its small kibble makes it easy for the little dogs (12-17 lbs) to eat and they are very eager to eat this kibble. The big dog (110 lbs) will chomp full mouth fulls. None have had an upset tummy, slowly inducing new food. Sometimes new food can upset thier digestive system. I have given this food as a treat as well and with will work for this once they smell what I have. Love the velcor type closer, over all very happy.

I have 2 Great Danes. This is a fantastic choice for large breed dogs as it has a high protein content. I love that Chewy has ingredients listed on their website

Protein content % is very important for young Danes, this made it easy to find a good choice. Also has glucosamine for joint health.
