I am not a groomer, just a dog owner. The groomer does my dog's nails. However, I keep this on hand just in case a day comes when I need to clip my dog's nails.

Non toxic option

I’ve had styptic powder before for my pigeons. Unfortunately I can’t find that brand anywhere, so decided to try this one. It works, but you can’t just dip a claw

I’ve had styptic powder before for my pigeons. Unfortunately I can’t find that brand anywhere, so decided to try this one. It works, but you can’t just dip a claw into it and have it stick. You have to take a small pinch of it and hold it onto the bleeding claw. Very messy! I have small Chihuahuas with black claws. I can’t use a dremel, it just doesn’t work. When I clip their claws I always manage to cut one or two too short, so need the styptic powder. I bought this brand because it was non toxic. It works, just not the way I wanted it to, so it gets 4 stars today. It is a nice big container as well and priced right.

I try to be conservative when trimming my dog's nails but occasionally take a bit too much nail. When that happens having the styptic powder helps stop the bleeding

Love this stuff

I have cut my Bellas toenail i bit too short a few times. ( bad mommy) Causing het to bleed. This product stops the bleeding right away. Does not hurt her. I
