These are sturdy and don’t leak, once in a while you will receive a nipple that leaks, usually the washer is the issue or if you have used it before then it could be dirty. These are so nice in the brooder or for a small amount of birds. Easy flip top to fill. Birds can learn on the peck style then when larger graduate to the other type of nipple. I have been using for my quail and they work great after the little birds are a few weeks old. Chicken chicks are much quicker as they are larger.

I got the one with a flat top, not the peaked top like the picture, they look the same just different top, This waterer is a 64oz hard plastic BPA -Free with dimensions of 7.2x6.1 x3.4 and total weight is 8.80 Oz. Appropriate for ducklings, quail, cockatoos, parrots and other pet birds. It attaches to the outside of the coop or cage for easy refill. The flat red top has a little flip cap cover. I put this together and put it in with my pet quail and they figured it out, they are inside so the water doesn’t freeze. I like it but it can be hard to keep it attached so I can figure it out, I would recommend it because it works and it’s very strong and won’t break easily. Outside in cold winters it might freeze. It keeps the water clean and I like that.

My husband I believe put plumbers tape and that stopped most of the leaking. It still drips. We can't use it in the chick box liked we hoped because of the leaking, but we did put it out in the pen where it create a little mud but the big hens can use it.
Great for small poultry
My son raises Coturnix Quail and uses this waterer for his grow out cage. It is easy to hang on the side of the cage, easy to fill and clean, and works perfectly

Reason that I gave a 1 star on my review is because the new model as (pictured on web page) has a far superior lid and the plastic is stronger. Extremely disappointed with my purchase. The picture is added to my review is of the old model I recieved.
